Yes they did need that TD. and they had to pass forward to get it. 7 freaking targets to Cook for a whole 11 yards first half. What a waste.

Can you believe they already have targeted backs out of the backfield on 10 passes? Out of 19 attempts, 10 went to backs and were called plays for them. 3 more targets to receivers that were less than 1 yard beyond the line.

The Patriots offense is half what it used to be and we are playing down under their small ball junk. This is everything they've hoped for.

Patriots trying their hardest to give up the lead with holding calls. Let's see if the Vikings can throw in the 5-9 yard range again like their only scoring drive and move down this field and take advantage.

You would think so. Didn't know who he was while here, sure can't defend him these days. The Patriots should use him more often against this defense.

Why do they refuse to go after the first down? Why is the entire offense predicated on line of scrimmage targets or 35 yards down field shots? Why are they scared of the entire field of space between those areas?

The one for Thielen was one of two things. Either really great defensive positioning, or clear pass interference. Because that defender never looked for the ball and just kind of railroaded Thielen towards the sideline side. Thielen should have stopped and went around him, but it was too late. Good positioning since Thielen didn't make more of an effort to get around him.
