Especially when they need a basket down in score and he clanks them at that time more than ever. Pressure messes with his shot so far. If he was clutch shooting it would be different to me. I like the rest of his game. I ride it rfa if it was my choice.
I plan to pay Rose something to beg him to stay. This isn't half the team without what he's been offering every game. If he's gone at some point Timberwolves will need a replacement of that level of player and will never get it for what he's playing for right now. Go ahead and spend on Tyus and then live or die by his shooting growth or failure to.
Ya this is where I'm at as well. Tyus is solid but it would be nice if he was a knockdown (and clutch) shooter on top of that. His lack of size and athleticism contributes to being able to be somewhat shut down on the offensive end of the floor when things ratchet up in intensity. I also agree on Rose, he's only going to get better the healthier he gets.
I'd like to add another PG prospect to this discussion - D'Mitrik Trice of Wisconsin. Strong, smart, athletic, plays bigger than his 6 foot size. Can get into the lane and score or pass, and is shooting a ridiculous 60% on 3's this year shooting almost 6 a game, and many of them are highly contested. When he's open he'll take a basic looking 3, but he can also elevate off the dribble from deep as well. Really love his game. No idea if he'll come out for the draft this summer but if he does, if he keeps this up he'll be a late first rounder, right in our range. Is he starter material? He's solidly built, wide shoulders, strong upper body, but he's 6 feet (200 lbs). Rumor has it that he has a pretty long wingspan, so there's that. If not a starter, kind of looks like a more athletic and better shooting Tyus. He's on my watch list of PG's to keep track of this college bball season.
