I would think they'd much rather have Dekker so that move would have been made already if it was going to happen (for that specific piece at least). Should have leaned more in that direction, even if it took a little sweetener. Dedmon discernibly improves the team, Smith doesn't.

I can’t believe this. I’m excited to see what the trade deadline offers as well.

Exactly. Ok, signing those guys was a mistake, so we can live with it or get out from under it. And yes you have to pay a price to shed salary. It's the way it works.

This a million times. Hammond was steering the ship, Horst was simply rowing a paddle. It’d go on without him.

Smith improves the team if Thon doesn't play. He's like Zeller with a three. Or am I wrong?

I mean Smith is really bad but he's a terrific fit though. If he can help any NBA roster it's ours. That said Dekker is even worse so getting Smith and a second out of that is terrific. Washington must like Dekker cause the cap their saving is minimal.

Edit: I wonder how that trade came along. Did Washington like Dekker all this time? Did we call Washington cause we knew they were trying to save cap? Were we in talks with Washington for Beal or Porter and Dekker just came along?

It's an A++ trade if we end up with another all nba player on the roster because of this.

Can we put a rest to this “all the mistakes Horst was involved in” s***?

Have you ever had a boss before? How manny times have you been the person reporting up and informed him or her something was a bad idea and they said “f*** it” I’m the boss and done it their way anyways. I know I sure have.

Maybe, just maybe dude knows what he’s doing. So far he has taken a dogs*** Jason Kidd led team and turned them into a damn fun product about to beat the Warriors again tonight proving 7 games in the finals will be nothing for us.

I mean Horst got the gig because he was involved in everything.

Sure, Horst has been with the organization for nine years and has played a vital front-office role for many of them. He eventually rose to the point where was he considered former GM John Hammond's right-hand man.

Anywhere Hammond went Horst was there. That included contract negotiations, the draft combine, trade discussions — you name it and Horst was either there or fully apprised of what was going on.

The 34-year-old also became the team's salary-cap guru, crunching numbers and making sure the Bucks were diligently following the often labyrinthine regulations stipulated by the NBA's collective bargaining agreement.

Shocked that some aren't going berserk with the evidence now that Horst has been talking to Washington. Either because a) maybe they've discussed Beal or b) the Beal possibility must be nonexistent if they're making other trades.

I think so. Smith's efficiency behind the line is not much more proven than Zeller's was, inside the arc he's considerably less efficient, and defensively you're going to lose something.

Need to think about this for a day. Many moving pieces. Seems good if they have an end game on another deal or free agent next summer.

On paper this appears to be a good deal for the bucks. However, I am interested to see how this trade works out. We are playing pretty well and sometimes adding a better player does not always improve a team. Team dynamics can be complex and I get the impression that Henson and Delly were well liked by their teammates.

Cleveland are probably writing off this year and next. All about future draft picks and rebuilding their team. Like Philadelphia did.

So did we both lose and acquire a second?

So you hated Bogut and loved Henson. Well ****.

This is really good work from Horst. Outside of the Wilson pick and the Snelly mess he's done some very good things.

At least he is an expiring that can still be traded this year!

Guys, we seriously replaced two guys who weren't playing with two guys who can play and can displace worse players who are playing. That's a good thing.
