He definitely needs the rest, especially mentally after Valanciunas owned him. I hope some days of rest clears his mind.

I'm curious Bum, are you actually a Sixers' fan? You joined two and half years ago and have posted quite a bit, yet I can't recall you posting here while we were tanking, now all you do is criticize the coaching staff, Sixers players, Embiid, and primarily Simmons. Like all of your most and-1'd posts are criticisms that you've made of the Sixers for the GB -which they obviously eat up- and posts you've recently and-1'd yourself are criticisms that others have made...

It's weird, at least.

Brett Brown thinks Embiid needs rest but the issue is Embiid needs room to operate.

Stop having Embiid doing these handoff actions and other useless actions.

Embiid should do only 3 things on offense. Post ups, PnR, PnP. That's it. Anything else is a waste of his energy and talent. Have the other bigs do the handoff nonsense.

Brown has done a terrible job of getting Embiid easy baskets, he has to create so much of his own offense and rarely gets it easy. They need to run PnR with him and Butler, take Ben out earlier so those two can build chemistry together. It makes no sense to have a deadly ball handler like Butler and a big like Embiid and never run the PnR between them.

That's actually true. Jo is creating a lot for Redick with those handoffs and screens, and rarely gets an easy layup or elbow spot up shot from the team executed offense. The bully ball he implemented this season definitely used up a lot of energy from him.

He'll be fine, just let him rest a few days and figure it out on his own.

It's even worse when you compare Embiid to other offensive big men, he has the lowest % for assisted shots.

Embiid - .525%
KAT - .708%
Davis - .659%
Vucevic - .710%
Jokic - .569%
Gasol - .807%
Aldridge - .640%
Porzingis (last year) - .726%

What these numbers say is that Embiid is scoring almost half his buckets on his own, the coaching staff just rolls the ball out there and just puts it on him to score.

He's elite at scoring in the post, but getting him some more easy scores would help keep him fresh like you said, and it'll also get him in a better rhythm in games since he'd be more involved in plays even if he's not in them if you get what I'm saying. Right now almost nothing comes easy for him which is why he can struggle if the refs swallow the whistle and allow more contact, it's on the coaching staff for not maximizing his talents.

They definitely have to start thinking about upgrading Brett Brown. Finally.

Embiid complained about his usage but it stems more from not having a true stretch 4 and having a PG who can't shoot. It would be nice if we can find a big that compliments Embiid and can take 5-6 threes a game

Dont know why Jo is complaining. He’s been at the post a lot. Is he complaining about Simmons?

all he said is the truth. is he used perfectly? nah. hes 7'2 and is shooting over 4 3's per game, because our PG cant shoot. and does he really get that many good postpossessions? 90% of the time he immediately gets doubled cause ben's (or tj's) defender can sag off them.

i think hes mad about the fit with him. ben is a great player and embiid knows it, but they dont really fit well.

the perfect team around a dominant center is 4 shooters (with 1 or 2 who can create their own).

I also feel like Ben’s primadona personality is rubbing him off. Specially as the leader of the team.

we need a new coach

we also need to really start thinking about if we want to go long term with simmons and embiid both on the team.. they are an AWFUL fit together... like, as bad of a fit as you can get offensively actually

I love how simmons has played lately, even tho Im a big critic of his.. but we absolutely need to maximize on his value and trade for a star that fits with embiid and butler

bradley beal would be great, but IDK what we would run out at PG in that scenario.. but some sort of player that is an elite shooter and can play defense and is still young

Why the hell do we need a new coach?

Who's coming in here and changing things so drastically that we win every single game?

We have a young team and a paper thin bench.....not too many coaches are coming in here and doing much better then what BB has done the last 2 seasons.

To be fair, Embiid has never really been someone who's thrived in rolling to the basket or being a target man for lobs around the basket either.Obviously its a relatively small sample size, but for some reason he tends to bobble balls a lot more then you'd expect when things seem "easy".

When Noel was here, sure we sucked....but we ran PNR's for him.

JoJo needs to be careful here. His post touches aren’t the panacea.

These comments come off as devisive......

If Butler was saying things like there would be a different narrative
