Vote: Biz
Nominate: Love

On a side note: I feel if you’re voting for Wall or Paul then you must nominate Love - his deal is going to look just as terrible in the back end.

Vote Cp3
Nominate Johnson

I might actually vote Johnson next if he gets the nom. Can't vote Wall before any of those useless 3 years left guys are off the board.

How is Kevin Love's contract not a nominee? His should be 3rd or 4th worst on this list. Houston would laugh at Cleveland if they offered Kevin Love's deal for Chris Paul... and you know it.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

I would argue, that Cleveland would laugh at least the same amount as Houston in your trade proposal.
But Kevin Love is, as you can see, for many right next up to get on this list.

There are many, very different, bad contracts who are difficult to compare, therefore it seems to be not so easy to come up with a good list, but this board tries.

Honestly, unlike the other bad contracts on the list, I don't see a team in the league that would take Kevin Love's contract. Wiggins is worst than his, but Minnesota wouldn't want Love with KAT. The other teams with dead money are all much shorter deals. Wiggins and Love's deals are horrible.

I think our viewpoints differ on that end.

I think there are less than 10 teams in the league who would NOT take Love where as I think there are less than 10 teams who would take on Paul. I also think that the best offer for Love would probably be better than the best offer for Paul, and I think that is the 'definition' we are trying to answer with 'worst contracts'.

Many comments in this and past threads confirm what I have said before.

Is this a worst trade value vote or a worst contract vote? The title says worst contract. OP talks about trade value.

Trade value is so dependent on so many variables. Team needs. Current roster. Win now vs win later team. And so many more variables.

A bad contract (to me) is money paid for production.

Discussing would “Cavs trade Love for Paul” as if that determines trade value (or even severity of bad contract for that matter) carries no weight to me. Because that takes into consideration so many variables.

Parsons and Mosgov and others getting paid for zero production (being this year, past years, and future years) makes that a terrible contract. Noah and Deng and other buyouts should be on “worse contract” list too. 20mil for zero minutes/production is a bad investment in any industry.

Wiggins is overpaid. As are many on this list providing overpriced production. But I would rather pay 25mil for 10’ish mil production than 20mil for zero production AND forced to spend additional money to backfill that lost production not being provided — and even have to gamble backfilling cost me assets, and/or reach and overpay on backfill production, and/or spend more capital just to get production (which I hoped 20mil per year should have gotten me from player X).
