If Brad Beal is available, we need to make a run for him. He’s a star player in comparison to our current roster. He’s a perimeter scorer and playmaker which we desperately need.

"Aura" of draft picks wears off fast.
Magic "valuable assets" next year will be as valuable as Bender, Frank N,, Ingram, Brown and other 2016/2017 picks who don't look like stars.
More data you get, clear it gets prospect is nothing special.

Nobody looks at Josh Jackson and saying " oh my god , so much untapped potential" ,people say " oh yea ,he sucks for 2 years now".

Dipo , Lavine and Markkanen went at it.
Magic had one and could have other two if they knew what they were doing.

and ofc, great as usual, Sabonis being Sabonis, 20-7 off bench

Could have had all 4 (Sabonis included)....

Lavine instead of Elf, Markkanen instead of Isaac. But we hold onto Vuc and Evan as if they are going to lead us to a championship one day

I didn't want to revive the draft thread so early but I'm watching the Kansas-Iowa State game and Tyrese Haliburton a 6-5 freshmen point guard for IState is a WeHam prototype he's been getting his hands on a lot, just someone I'm gonna keep my eye on.

So is this board generally about complaining about old drafts and not taking every player that ended up being halfway decent? I swear this place has become the most circular, boring, negative message board on the internet.

Critique is cool and so is discussion, but every single day it’s rehashing complaints about draft picks that we never had a chance to get

WeHam will have 25 mill this offseason. Coach Cliff with more talent should spell playoffs next year for sure.

Hard to do it when Magic in 2017 failed at tanking and took Isaac where, if they sucked bit more ,without moral wins at end of a year could take Tatum or Fox.
2018 is even worst, one usless win vs Dallas was difference between Bamba and Dončić.

Okay so while we're at it I'm going to complain about Shaq leaving, Penny getting injured, Grant Hill being injured (and ruining a potential dynasty), McGrady getting traded, Courtney Lee missing that lay-up in game 2 against the Lakers, and Dwight Howard leaving as well? Boy we should just keep talking about these things in the past that can't be changed because its relevant and can help the present and future situations.

Bringing up the past consistently especially in the Sports world means nothing unless you're talking championships. Outside of that the present and the future are the only things that matter here...

Yes, the team made bad deals in retrospect in the recent years. But this is a new regime... You got to focus on the current roster/potential roster moves that can be made at the deadline and beyond.

You consider Beal to be a star?

Look at who played in that game. Both teams tanked but someone has to win the game. If Jamel Artis is going to hit shots what are you going to do?

Part of the reason so many posters have left and game threads are dead. Yes the Magic are bad but there’s enough misery in the world without being reminded about another aspect of it 24/7 on this board.

They should've traded Fournier and Vuc a long time ago. They help us win a few games but it's not worth it. Fournier may not even be a top 30 shooting guard and we give him usage like he's a star, can anyone name a worse rebounding 2 guard?

He’s not at a level where he can hoist a team on his back and carry them far; but in all the games Wall missed last season, Beal lead the Wizards to a .500 record (20-20). And since Wall has gone down this season, Beal has the Wizards playing .500 ball again (2-2, lol, tiny sample size). But he’s putting up 27.5ppg, 6rpg, 5.8apg, 2.5spg and shooting 43%/35%/83% (with 6ftas a game). Again, tiny sample size, but he’s stepping up to the call.

How many players can carry team on their own? Lebron and Durant? That's pretty much it.

I think trading for Beal makes us a lot more enticing to land a pg (Russell? or similar tier) this summer in free agency. No one is getting excited playing with anyone on the roster now.
