That had to be a fairly big motivation for the team.

I don't know about that. The team obviously saves ~$800k in guaranteed salary in terms of the bottom line; however, the tax is determined based on team salary on the day of their last regular season game. Any actual tax savings assumes we don't sign anyone or make any moves that increase salary for the rest of the regular season.

i'm sure that money is going to be going to someone else. there are no tax savings. unless Boucher and Loyd are not being added to the roster and raptors ride into the sunset with 13 players to the playoffs.

Wow, him and Nurse must have had a bad argument!

at least malachi knows his role, comes in and shoots 3s

our boy lorenzo was trying to dunk on people in transition and otherwise not doing much of anything other than a steal here and there

Maybe they are clearing the way for Loyd. Not a trad. PG, but maybe he has improved with the 905.

I just noticed the Raptors 905 has Myck Kabongo.

He has Kobe's fearlessness with about 1/100th of Kobe's ability. The result? a TS% around 400

Thanks for correction. Although I guess if they do it now and know they will likely sign someone later, it’s not a double hit on the tax in case he is chosen to be released.

he may want to win a championship and will do what it takes.
he'd take the 3 pt spot shooter role that Miles is not taking. he'd play for Lowry's reduced minutes.
there's room. not in a hurry to sign him, but there will be room
