It won’t accomplish anything, just like last time. Save your money
I'm not here to argue.

Hmmmm... maybe Pax is just really tired of this job and since Jerry won't allow him to quit he's just going to force his hand.

Re: Source: Bulls give Jim Boylen salary bump, deal through at least next season
Part of me hoped this was Cowley reaching.
Now that Shams has confirmed - I’m beside myself.
Within minutes of the announcement that Boylen would be named HC without the interim tag, I posted that the Bulls would eventually bump up his salary for 2019-20 rather than hold a search for a market rate coach.
But for it to happen a day after a 40+ point loss, his second in his short tenure, and after a near mutiny, and after he’d dragged this team to a league-worst offense - it’s as big a slap in the face as selling that second round pick.
I gotta rethink investing time in this team. It’s obvious nothing’s going to change except my tolerance for the bs.

Re: Source: Bulls give Jim Boylen salary bump, deal through at least next season
KC said this when the Bulls hired Boylen:
So is it that we extended with a pay bump or just gave him a pay bump to his existing deal?
There’s no interim in Boylen’s title because he’s under contract through next season, and the Bulls plan to give him every opportunity to become the long-term answer for a management team that in 15 years has now hired five coaches: Skiles, Vinny Del Negro, Tom Thibodeau, Hoiberg and Boylen.
So is it that we extended with a pay bump or just gave him a pay bump to his existing deal?

To have this come out after a 40 point loss IS insane. Paxson's reasoning for firing Hoiberg was that the team lacked competitive spirit. Well, what's his reason for possibly extending Boylen? Competitive spirit sure can't be the reason.

Paying assistant coach salary for a head coaching job. This was a lock from day 1 and everyone knew it.

Either they're PR incompetent or they don't care what it looks like to the fans
either way that's not good

I don't care if the chances of landing a big name FA aren't that great. We're in **** Chicago with a stories franchise. This is a very desirable city. Keeping this bum hurts out chances of landing a FA. No way kwahi will consider coming. None of them will. I

This is the lowest it's been for this franchise in a long time. This is post-dynasty bad.

In many ways it feels worse, because back then we were naive and still believed that Krause's plan could eventually pay off. Now we're fed the same BS every couple years as the franchise tries to reset itself.

The team has been worse under Boylen than Fred and Boylen has had a better roster. Seriously phuck this organization. phuck Reinsdorf and **** GarPax.

This will go over well...
Though honestly, do you not give the guy the small salary bump and guarantee a year, and then watch him coach knowing he has no future with this team?
He'll need to be replaced eventually but I'm with the notion of riding this wave out. (In fact I thought Fred should've either been canned last summer or after this season ended, even though I thought he was a worse coach)

This has to be a way to go all in on a "Process" without Silver reprimanding us right?
Our offensive sets are 20 years old and we don't even have a post up big

Every move they make is worse than the one before it. That’s kinda impressive.
I'm not here to argue.

They had one run because of lucking out drafting one of the greatest players ever. It's not a historically great franchise like the Lakers or Celtics.
