Yep, that was me. I never got very good either, but I definitely did get better over time. I haven't played recently, but played it a ton when I first got it and for several months after.

The first thing that I think helped me was the idea to try to keep the board clear at all times. You still naturally over time try to build up for combos, but starting with that mindset helped me. The next thing I did was use this resource - a fricking academic research paper. I didn't get super in-depth with it, but I gleaned some good tips.

Might not be the kind of shooter you're looking for, but I personally really enjoyed The Division and the sequel is coming out at the beginning of March I believe. Beta next weekend.

Thanks for the info on the beta, I’ll probably give it a go. I played the beta for the first Division and felt I got my fill and didn’t need to buy the game. Hopefully the sequel does a bit more for me.

I think you might need to pre-order to be eligible for the beta, but obviously you could pre-order, try the beta, and then cancel afterwards.

I don't know if you've really paid any attention to the Division 2 updates, but a quick summary of some of the changes:
- Takes place in Washington DC instead of NYC and it's no longer snowy; I guess it's more like DC but kinda overgrown with wildlife to an extent
- Three separate dark zones instead of one now. The main dark zones are also normalized so you won't end up in a battle with other humans that can kill you in one shot while you do no damage to them. There is an end game dark zone that is NOT normalized though.
- Game will be released with a few PvP modes; sounds like basically a Team Deathmatch mode and a Domination mode (if you're familiar with COD and Battlefield's versions, it's essentially the same). These modes will be normalized as well.
- Added turrets to the Dark Zone entrances that will attack spawn campers so you won't just get murdered over and over before you have a chance to move.
- Added some new special abilities, weapons, and I'm sure new customization options as you would expect.

Restarted BOTW - as I bought a TV for the first time in 8 years.

What a difference in gameplay going from handheld to TV + Pro Controller.

Damnit.. motherboard in my PC took a crap it looks like.

When I turn my PC on, it won't even post. The LCD panel on the motherboard just begins throwing code after code as soon as I hit the power button.

I've tried resetting the CMOS, removing the battery, turning the PC on with one RAM slotted, tried switching the dual bios functionality, etc.

I bought this board brand new last December, so it's barely a year old. Gigabyte X370 K7 board.

Never had to RMA anything before, how long of a turn around time can I expect? I was just really getting in to Warframe too, lol, this sucks.

I want to say when I had to do this with a motherboard the whole process took about a week to get the new one.

Played a good three hours or so of Anthem today and I have to say I like it a lot more than I was anticipating. There are a lot of technical issues to work out in terms of disconnects, crashes, not being able to invite friends to a squad consistently. But ignoring those and looking at just the gameplay I think I'm going to prefer it to Destiny. The gameplay is much more fluid, almost Warframe like but not as zergy. Going to try out the stronghold (dungeon) with my group of friends tomorrow so that will play a big part in if we end up playing it casually.

In my experience RMAs typically take a month (+/- a few days) from the moment I reach out to the day I get it back. At least that's how it was for Corsair, MSI and Samsung.

Are you playing on PC? I loved Halo 1-5, but I found Destiny to be a little slower and not nearly as fun. I've also never played Warframe haha

Yeah, I'm on PC. The free demo is going on until tomorrow night so there's nothing to lose checking it out (just hopefully you aren't hit with some of the bugs that are affecting people with loading the game and stuff).

I was gifted Pillars of Eternity 2, which is extremely confusing as it's PoE but I already have a PoE. So thankfully it's the second one so that PoE = Path of Exile and PoE2 = Pillars of Eternity 2.

Just digging in. Baldur's Gate 2 is high on my GOAT list, but the first Pillars never connected with me. Hoping this one connects. I've heard it's much improved.

This is my jam that you linked me a research paper on a video game. Love it.

So I’ve got every armor in Zelda — save for the Barbarian, Knight, and Wild sets — to four stars. Grinding out for the dragon parts sucks, it’s just so much sit around and do nothing compared to everything else in the game.

IGN showed off the first 15 minutes of Crackdown 3 and it looked just as I expected. Seems like a perfect game to buy on sale and then collect all the green orbs. I was obsessed with the first.

Oh and Terry Crews is the main character model https://www.ign.com/articles/2019/02/01/crackdown-3-hands-on-part-science-experiment-part-video-game

Damn. It's currently at 97% downloaded for me I'm pumped to try it.

Edit...I could barely play it. Bugs everywhere. It seemed like another Destiny to me.

Totally felt like another Destiny but without some of the polish. I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing while on the first mission and the story/lore reminded me of Destiny.

I also hate the menus in Anthem, way too many layers.

The menus are horrible. Sometime you advance by pressing F, other times its Enter, and it wouldn't let me click to advance half the time. Game is a pretty big no for me until it's $20-30 even in just my initial couple of hours.
