Hard capped at the $134m apron with any sign-and-trades.

Not hard capped at all by an opt-in-and-trade, however

Re: Anthony Davis requests trade, part 3
FWIW, I'm hearing the same -- we're trading Horford (opt-in) + asset(s) for Durant and trading Tatum, Hayward, plus assets for Anthony Davis. But I'm hearing other things. My sources say the reason we're fine with letting go of both Hayward and Tatum is that Kawhi Leonard is seriously considering signing with Boston for the MLE for a real shot at another title. Klay still needs a bit of convincing to sign for the vet minimum to be our super 6th man. Baynes opts in and we then re-sign Morris on a discount.
Experts are wary that a bunch of journyemen, overrated "stars", and washed up vets could win Boston its 18th banner. Most are saying 7-game 2nd round exit as the ceiling.
Starters: Smart-Kyrie-Kawhi-Durant-Davis
Bench: Beverley-Klay-Brown-Morris-Baynes
Gino Crew: Wanamaker-Ojeleye-Hill-Williams-KG (out of retirement)

Yeah Dan Gercart knows the cap and tends to be more of a naysayer when it comes to hypothetical scenarios. If he's floating this as a possibility he's crunched the numbers and it's possible.

Does it mean its happening? No. But its not nothing, either.
That said, Kyrie is the one that's here, and right now, most my mental energy as a fan is just on hoping we resign him

Jackie has said a lot of random things over the years that never amounted to anything. That being said, Durant loves Kyrie as a player. And if Kyrie was smart, he’d recruit KD. On the other hand, Kyrie said him and AD are like brothers. If Kyrie were smart, he’d also be recruiting AD. So Kyrie has the powers to make this work. I just don’t know why I don’t trust him to do so.
Only if Kyrie had a little more DWade in him.
Reload said that Kyrie has recruited KD and Jay King said in October than Kyrie has recruited AD, though...

Sources said the pains Irving’s experienced with some teammates is a reason he’s considering leaving the Celtics.
Take it FWIW it's from Joe Vardon who's known to get a lot of info from LeBron's camp.

Total BS. We'd trade Jaylen (or whoever) if we had to.

That article really said nothing and they buried that quote — took me a few times to locate it.
I mean, a lot of reporters have talked about how theres a Rozier+Brown v Irving thing going on— this seems like more of the same.

I just find it funny that Kyrie called to apologize to lebron for just being young but yet is getting after all the young guys himself. You would think Kyrie would be more understanding towards the younger guys since it seemed like he went through the same problems.

The problem with this team isn't the young guys: its Hayward and his glacially slow recovery, plus Kyrie going into Uncle Drew mode.

Not a contradiction. Kyrie's official stance is basically "You're young, and that has bad consequences, but it's wrong to blame you because you can't help yourselves."
Of course, that's Kyrie, so his stance or at least his emphasis could change drastically any time.

I’ve gone back and forth on this, but I really think DA should be able to hold onto one of them. If not, I don’t agree to the deal without keeping the Memphis pick.
This AD stuff has kinda burnt me out, so I’m honestly not even that upset if he doesn’t go to Boston. I like our guys and feel like they’re starting to figure it out. Internal development and low-cost veteran additions is underrated imo.
I’d be feeling a lot better if one of our picks fell in the Ja Morant range. Maybe if the NBA rigs it so that LA gets AD and NY gets Zion, Kyrie and AD, they can rig it for us to get Ja as a consolation prize.
The next five days are crucial - if the wrong trades go down, Sacramento has a shot at the playoffs, LA at the lottery - both would be a disaster for us.
I don’t think there’s any move that Sacramento could realistically make to get into the playoffs. I could see them sticking around the 12-14 range though, which is still not ideal. If they slip into the top 10 and this AD trade doesn’t happen, I hope DA trades a lot of picks for Ja Morant.
Granted, I have no idea how the PGs in the 2020 class stack up to this one. Ja just seems like the only star of the bunch. Good insurance if Kyrie has a change of heart or good asset for the future when the next superstar becomes available. Regardless of the situation, I’m confident in the FO. They’ve done literally nothing to let us down in like the past 5 years. Last big gaff was Olynyk over Giannis, which I’m pretty sure we all knew was stupid.

I am less concerned then I was about Hayward just a week ago. He’s looked a little more aggressive and confident. By the end of the year I think he’ll be a major factor.

Making public the nature of that "apology" like that was just another way to take a public swipe at the young C's--after he had vowed to stop taking public swipes at the young C's.

You're half right.
Kyrie is perfectly capable of moving the ball. I think he goes "Uncle Drew" when he has to.

Sure, against the dregs of the league for the most part. But yes, Hayward looks a little better.
Let's see what happens today against a WC team with a comparable record-- and it's own little win streak (7 in a row). They'll miss Baynes against Adams.

Fourth best ORTG and DRTG during that stretch and a league best +10.0 net rating.

Also, 3rd in Net Rating (barely behind GS) despite the crap 10-10 start. I think we'd be right there with the Bucks if we'd started off fine. Hayward's recovery is holding us back, but I still think we make the finals. Bucks will be tough though.
