Re: Trade Ideas Thread: Deadline Edition
Man, so many of these athletes are really dumb. Apparently, Davis wants to go to a well run organization where he can compete for a title for many years, and yet he's interested in the Knicks?! The worst organization of all time. Just like that dummy Carmelo Anthony demanding a trade from a pretty good playoff team in Denver, to New York. The fact that NY had to give the entire starting five in order to get him, therefore lefting him to play only with junk, didn't phase to his mind at all.
As far as Lakers are concerned, they are going to make a huge, huge mistake if they throw everything and their entire young core for AD. They'll have a 2 man team in AD and 34 year old Lebron and they're going to win against who? To me, a core of Kuzma, Ingram, Ball, Zubac, healthy Lebron is a much better team then what they are trying to achieve here.

Nah. They want to start with young players so basically you are saying that Ferguson is better than Ingram+Kuzma+Lonzo+ 2 late first picks.
I know they are trash but still...maybe one of the three will become a good player. I wonder why Pelicans aren't making pressure to get Zubac though
Adams and Ferguson are both young players. Adams is just proven. If I were Demps, I'd certainly consider it.
and who is going to replace Ferguson?
Still don't think NOLA won't consider that offer but...

Whatever. Enough with this laker trash. We know the situation will be manipulated enough that at some point the lakers will get what they want but it doesn't make Magic any less incompetent. Time for Sam to get busy. I'm bored.

yeah well would still be better for us if this deal can be done ASAP (even more if Moore/Mirotic aren't included)

I am not from America, so can anyone clarify me what's up with New Orleans? Why people don't like that town so much?

New Orleans is fine. The team's just mismanaged.

Fine is an accurate description. That's a problem when you combine it with a middle of the road or worse organization.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

New Orleans is one of the better party towns in the America for what that's worth. Crime rate is not great though (not that any of these players probably are ever impacted by stuff like that).

Re: Trade Ideas Thread: Deadline Edition
The funny thing is that neither Boston or LA have GREAT packages to send NO. The lakers players aren't world beaters, but neither is anyone from Boston. Tatum is just kinda meh. He isn't particularly athletic on offense and hasn't ever really exhibited much of a defensive ceiling. Brown is meh. The Clippers and Kings picks won't be very good at all and Memphis protected their picks for this year and the next.
If NY lands a top 3 pick, that would seem to be the best option. Zion would put butts in seats.
For OKC, I just hope Presti is working on the periphery while everyone is enthralled by the Anthony Davis saga. Trade Abrines into someone's cap room with a second and absorb someone into the trade exception like Ellington from Miami. Look for another big on the buyout market. Mission accomplished.

The city is a complete dump. People empty the trash out of their cars while sitting at stop lights. It is the filthiest and most disgusting city I have ever been to and I had the misfortune of living there.
If we are talking about the team it has made a few mistakes that have led to AD wanting out. The worst was trading for Cousins. It isn't that the trade itself was bad, but without them having a plan to fit AD and Cousins together it didn't work. It also didn't help that they let Cousins walk instead of paying him and that if they hadn't made the trade Buddy would be a great fit next to Jrue and AD. If Cousins doesn't get hurt then maybe things would be different there right now, but they got better after he went down last year. NOLA was in the 2nd round of the playoffs last year. They have had some injury issues this year and Randle wasn't a good fit. The problem I would have if I were trying to trade for AD is he is demanding off a team that was just one of the last 4 standing in the West. Where is he actually going to be happy?

NOLA is rumored to be looking for 4 first round picks for AD. Houston was rumored to have offered that for Butler. If Harden and/or CP3 reach out to AD and get him to add Houston to his list I could see him ending up there. CP3, Harden, AD and Capela would give GS a run for their money.
If I were NY I wouldn't trade Zion plus more future picks for AD. They will have cap space for two max FAs. They should try to land two to go with DSJ, Knox and Zion and if they can't land any then kick the money down the line with big one year deals. That would, in theory, give them another top 10 pick along with having the cap space again next year so if Zion happens to have a Luka type of rookie season it could get some max players interested in playing there, although I think NYC will help them land 1-2 max guys in the same way LA got LeBron to LAL. The fact that NOLA had no interest in Porzingis basically means NY has no chance at landing AD unless it happens in the off-season. Boston is in the same position since they can't trade for him until Kyrie's contract is up at the end of the year.
I think Magic is just dumb enough to send out Lonzo, Ingram, Kuzma, Hart and four 1st round picks for AD. That will be an insane haul. Even if you project all the picks to be in the 25+ range, which is unlikely as LeBron will be gone after 2 of them and they will be giving up all their quality depth. It would allow NOLA to either focus on a real rebuild and trade Jrue for more picks and youth or to flip Lonzo to a team like Phoenix who needs a PG for things that would fit better around that group. I find the idea of Lonzo, Ingram, Kuzma, Heart and Randle all ending up in NOLA to be potentially devastating for LAL if they can develop them and get lucky in the lottery and pick up Zion then fill in the right pieces around them. NOLA knocking LAL off in the first round of the playoffs in 2020 would be wonderful.
The Bucks can't offer enough to get NOLA interested and I don't think the Clippers can either. AD is trying to force his way to LAL, which is bad for both him and LAL, but I don't think either are smart enough to see it.

Not trading Zion for AD. No way.

The Davis-Cousins pairing had a +6.3 NetRtG on the season. It's not like they were bad with them on the floor.

It’s tough. Having all three of KD, Kyrie, and AD would be bonkers in NY. Zion might be a beast on a cheap deal though so it’s an interesting decision.
I wonder if Atlanta has come off of their asking price a bit. It seemed like they were going for a first rounder a while ago.ThunderBolt wrote:Taurean prince was 5-7 from three last night. Just saying.
