I want more picks and less vets after Thursday

I have been thinking recently that was a throw away statement. When the season started he was all gungho on his 3 lottery picks, then the Cavs pick up and vanished like a fart in the win.

It could be that teams are wanting him to take back too much salary for the 2019 1st along with giving up our Vets.

This. My guess is teams with attractive assets aren't interested in making moves for the space but teams without it like Houston will but they don't have any attractive asset.

Which TS seemed noncommittal on the radio this morning. The one thing that sounded strong was his willingness to sign someone in FA. I really want to sign Boogie Cousins

My educated guess is that Schlenk's going to be less interested in adding another Dwight Howard like attitude to the locker room... more interested, though, in a post player like, say, a Justin Patton, who is a ridiculously good talent as soon as he gets past the foot issues he's had.

Real question, no snark (this time.)

Is this guy any good? I recall we kicked his tires but chose not to draft him. Since then all he's been is injured.

Also I am less than encouraged by our prospects for trading our vets. My spidey-sense is telling me we're just gonna buy guys out. :(

Good question. I also remember Patton coming in for workouts, and C-Viv presuming he was somewhere on our big board.

I'm pretty sure he was already gone by the time we drafted at #19, though.

I also foresee buy outs. Not my favorite option, But few complaints from all we've seen in the big picture.

I think he went 16 overall in that draft to the Wolves from huge Lauri trade. Hasn’t been given the opportunity in Minny with injuries and KAT.

For me:

I would like a Dedmon for Simmons and two 2020 2nds (CLE and ORL)

I would also like Lin for Z-Bo and two future 2nds.

Bazemore and Plumlee, 2020 2nd rounder for Parsons, Green and top 10 protected 1st that protection remains top 10 till 2025. It never goes top 8, 5 3 at all but it doesn't quickly go to two 2nds either.

The Bazemore deal became likely when the Gasol and Conley deals felt through.

Less likely is Prince or an upgrade move.

Prince could be moved. I would do OKC 1st 2019 and Diallo.

I would also do Brandon Ingram from NO for Anderson, Dorsey, Hamilton and our Dallas 1st rounder.

These are the deals I would do. Just looking at the market. We aren't getting a 1st for Dedmon or Lin.

The trade board has our name all over and is an absolute **** show. NBA fans on average are some stupid MFers.

I wonder what Schlenk has cooking. My guess is 2nd round picks. Yawn.

And we’re now under 24 hours until trade deadline

Whatever happens at deadline it was cool that Hawks had great road trip to end their time together (if some are traded) The players, LP and Schlenk all deserve a lot of credit for how team came together as close unit

I'd rather Zhaire Smith. Fultz is going to go down in the most bizarre way, I think his shot is completely shot because of whatever tweak they did.

The idea of giving up on a 20 year old guy after only 33 NBA games is perhaps the craziest thing I've ever heard. The idea of getting him with no pressure (Young/Huerter in front of him) for only 28 remaining games of Dwayne Dedmon is the epitome of a no-brainer.

Saying you'd rather have anyone else is just greed gone crazy. You get a former number 1 over all draft pick for 28 games of a borderline starting center while you have Len/Spellman already. You're getting insane potential for nothing.

I agree, but he's a 20 year old with a head issue, that'll cost us $10 mil next season. I'd do it though :D

Oh it’s coming... 19.5 hours left. Excitement starts late tonight and rolls into tomorrow morning.

Lin

Baze

Ded

Here we go. Pony up league. Give us fair value whether it’s a Fultz or Zhaire and his entourage. Bring it ATL!

Nah, that kid's got some weird injury stuff too.

A Fultz test drive is the ultimate low risk, high reward dealy.

Rumbling are that the Thunder are interested in Prince. This works out perfectly and they can throw in a pick perhaps.
