Uhhhhh....you 100% give up Tatum and Brown regardless of him signing an extension

Ainge is a loser if his does this. He offered the picks that are Smart, Rozier, Brown, and Tatum (as well as several other picks) in exchange for Anthony Davis when this rebuild started. To hand those players over now with more picks as if it was the same price to be paid is a total bitch move. To do it with nothing but one year left on his contract is pathetic. If Ainge includes Brown and Tatum in a deal for Davis he deserves to get turned out like he most likely will.

Could you imagine Pat Riley making that trade?

It's better than offering 4 first round picks for Frank the Ki, idk does he have a nickname.

Win rings or Win lotteries.

Enes Kanter seems to be the best option.
He's only 26, and averaging a Double-Double w/2 Assists this year.

He may not want to sign a 2 year deal. But he would seem to fit in New Orleans.

Lets get a shotblocking big if we could find one.

An essentially free 26yo who is a good defender and has averaged 20/15 with a FT% over .800 for the past two years, when a hefty big is the depth they most need, isn't good enough?

Mclemore as the 1.5 year MLE, then we waive Wanamaker (how many minutes has he played without Rozier, Smart or Irving next to him?) and see if any big likes us enough to sign a vet minImum deal for the rest of the year..

Wanamaker is better than McLemore. Sad but true.

Bucks are going to regret letting him go.

Yeah, this isn't me still hyping Mclemore - it's that he's someone who would definitely agree to the deal, and who might be a player the Pelicans have 'always liked' or whatever..

You getting AD to waive his trade kicker?

Forgot about that. Even so, a 15M deal for Morris plus Tatum plus Baynes works just fine. The issue is whether any buyout candidate can help win a playoff series. Willingness to take a 1+1 deal is a minor consideration.

Does Markieffs injury keep him out or more a case of being injured qualify him for the buyout and MLE, does he have the years of service and or was this necessary to get him free?

The Buyout market always gets 10x the amount of attention it deserves when you consider how many of them will actually be in playoff rotations.

I'd go for RoLo if it was a normal year, but the 2 year MLE thing looks like the most prudent way to go depending on how the early discussions with New Orleans went.

It's just easier to have that MLE salary, though. Baynes, Morris and Terry would all have to agree to be included by either picking up their player option or s&t. Morris at $15M only counts as $7.5 in sign & trade, same with Terry $8-10M at most if you do a really high descending contract.

With our roster, a buyout guy isn't going to be playing a ton. Obviously, it would be great if they could help in the playoffs, but a guy that would help AND take the MLE to NOP would be even better.

A 20M 1+1 extension for Horford works too. AD makes Horford, who will be 33 in June, expendible, don't you think? He would be the perfect locker room guy to help the Pelicans' young players.

What do you mean, a S&T?
Horford would have to agree to that. Which is Doubtful.

Mclemore is a scrub with a low basketball iq. There’s a reason he can’t get playing time this season!

Who was it that tweeted the Celtics might use their MLE? I checked a few sites and we have the taxpayers MLE at 5,3 $M for this year. If they are planning to sign someone through 2019-20 to use as trade ballast for AD who might it be?

I'm thinking it's Enes Kanter.
