Not surprising since team will be short handed with Embiid and Chandler rules out and Jimmy being questionable

He was solid, early days but he looks like a good pick from this regime.

Looked great on both ends of the floor last night. He’s silky smooth. Could be a good role player for us one day.

I don't know where Shake Milton is on his 2-way contract, but this has to be the longest 45 days I've ever seen. He must never travel on non-game days.

I'm not sure if this is accurate but I counted the games he played and the days in between those games. I also checked the boxscore of every game he hasn't played and checked if his status is not "Inactive - G League Team". He is only on the 29th day. This is the breakdown. BTW, I used Yahoo's boxscore.

Oct 16 = 1 day
Oct 20 = 1 day
Nov 21-25 = 5 days
Nov 30 = 1 day
Dec 1-2 = 2 days
Dec 10-25 = 13 days
Jan 5-13 = 5 days
Jan 26 = 1 day
-------------------
Total = 29 days

Is he injured? Will he get a roster spot by the end of the year? If he doesn’t, can we keep him next year?

I read somewhere that Shake is not eligible for the playoffs. True?

Not eligible on his two way deal, but would be if they cut some dead roster weight and convert him to a full NBA deal, which they should.

Any news on the hand/finger injury?

Yea, I think it's fairly obvious that we need to sign Shake to a full deal. He looks the part of an NBA player and has the versatility as a 3&D and can even be the ball handler. I hope Brand gets it done.

Shake Milton is more talented than Landry Shamet. I think that's part of the reason they felt secure enough to include Shamet in the Harris deal.

I've seen it reported that the Sixers are not going to convert Shake's 2-way contract to a regular contract this season. If they did, they could only sign him to a two year deal, whereas if they wait until the Summer he can be signed to a 4 year deal, perhaps something resembling the "Hinkie Special".

He is on a two year 2-way, so technically they could wait until the Summer of 2020 before they sign him, thus stretching the window longer, but they really like Shake and so will likely convert his contract in the Summer.

Since Shake is on the two-way, he's not eligible to play in the post season, although I believe he can practice and travel with the team. I wonder if if the Sixers went all the way, would Shake, Highsmith and even Demetrius Jackson get rings.

This is actually backwards I believe. If they wait until the offseason, they will be over the cap and can only sign him to a 2 year deal. They could sign him to a four year deal now by dipping into their room exception.

It makes little sense to convert Shake now and lose a year of his 2 year contract. We'll convert him in the summer and therefore have him for the next 2 seasons.

Then I assume we could do the same thing in the summer via the low-level exception if we are over the cap?

Sure. But you'd hope there'd be other things to spend that money on where as of now there is nothing to do with room exception other than lose it. I can't image using some on Shake would make a difference since we're likely competing against minimum offers in the buyout market. If a guy was going to sign for a prorated $4.5, I can't imagine he wouldn't sign for a prorated $3.5.

Could you sign Shake first, before signing anyone else, so that you sign him while still under the cap?

I'm on board with this assuming we can't find a veteran contributor who requires the entire RE prior to March 1st.

So do yall think he can replace Shamet once he returns to the court? I think he's done well in the limited minutes he's played thus far.
