KD went out of his way to say that he has no clue where all the rumors about him going to the Knicks came from. I don't think he's going to the Knicks. The Clippers probably have a better shot.

I actually do think KD is heading there, but it's 100% including that sweet super-max.

What super-max is that? Any team can offer him the same as they would any other 10+ year FA, 4yr/$160M (about). The Warriors can offer 5yr/$200+M.

Knicks can offer 4/162

Warriors can offer 5/219

but over the first four years, Warriors contract is about 'only' 9mil more than what the Knicks can give. I don't really think that extra 5th year is gonna be what keeps him on the Warriors if he wants to stay here.

Even if he does stay here, I think it'd be a 1+1 again, but I too think he's going to the Knicks IF I had to bet on it.

An article says that his off-court business is moving to NYC and also that he was house-hunting in the Los Angeles area, and also that he built an edifice named after him in the Washington, DC area.

I think he's past the point of "Omigod, San Francisco is the perfect place for me to be at this stage of my life," but I doubt he has a preference so strong about where he wants to be next that basketball considerations couldn't outweigh that.

If everything goes NY way is AD, KD and Irving
A title favorite? AD has never won Irving has injury history and the east is stacked.

AD and Irving played with little public scrutiny in small markets. OKC and Bay Area is far from NY.

KD is more likely to fail in NY IMO.

Why is AD part of the conversation? NY has no trade assets for AD.

That being said, I think KD going to the Knicks is a done deal. There is no way the Knicks would've moved their best asset just to clear more cap space if they didn't get an assurance he was coming.

So how does that work, exactly? KD's people told the Knicks FO that he'd sign there if they got a 2nd max slot to sign a specific FA?

For me there are too many moving parts for anyone to commit to anything at this point. I do want to say that the Knicks adding KD, Zion, and Kyrie to their current team still makes them pretty far away from being a top team in the east. You don't go from being a 15 win team to a 55 win team just like that. It will take a few years to build a proper squad, and that's based on the FO proving that they are good at what they do which they have not done yet.

I think KD respects basketball too much to make a decision based on where he wants to base his business. I think the possibility of a 1st or 2nd round playoff knockout several years in a row will get in his head.

Celtics did it when they got Garnett and Allen to add to Pierce and a drafted Rondo. It can be done.

I also think if they land KD and Kyrie, that trading for AD becomes a possibility.

- That Celtics team won 24 games before acquiring two HOFs in addition to their own HOF in Pierce. The Knicks would be one HOF short.

- Paul Pierce only played in 58 games that year, otherwise they would've been closer to the 33 win team they had the season prior. That's a lot different than what the Knicks players are doing this year (especially the guys that will be around next season for NY).

- The team with the big three and Rondo had very solid players like Tony Allen and Kendrick Perkins. The Knicks have Kevin Knox (high potential rookie that would need to find his role) and Mitchell Robinson (raw as cookie dough).

So it's not as simple as thinking the Knicks are going to go from being the worst in the league to a contender just by adding KD and Kyrie (best case scenario, btw) and the rookie Zion. They're still at best 4th in the East, but will be competing with Indiana and Boston to be second round underdogs.

Cmon bruh. U put two of the top five players on the same team, along with kyrie ? They would be favorites to exit the east that’s for sure. Because while a team like mil has just one superstar, the Knicks would have two. And that’s not even including kyrie. Come on

KD's definitely going to Brooklyn if he's moving to New York.

Less media attention, a better core of young players and a franchise that's more in tune with the younger generations.

I highly doubt KD has the guts to sign with the Knicks.

I think KD is ready to move on from the Warriors. He knows how many rings he wins in GS, won’t matter, as he would still get burned. He would definitely leave. I think he goes to NY, Clips or brooklyn.

as opposed to a team that has 10 wins. alright.

I'm not confident that Durant would come to the Nets at all, but the overconfidence that he'd choose the Knicks over the Nets from yall Knick fans is pretty funny to me.

On a side note, I don't think that Durant can handle the kind of pressure that would be put on him as the face of the Knicks. He was already out there in Cali snapping on the media, he might try to slap the hell out of Frank Isola if he had to deal with NY media scrutiny

the beautiful man in my avatar assured me the nets aren’t even a thought for durant.

media scrutiny is overrated. he’ll be treated like a god. 3x fmvp with nothing to really “prove” it’s all gravy

I still don't understand how people in general come to the conclusion that an all-time great player in his prime would leave a championship winning scenario for the worst team in the league. Off the top of my head I don't think I've ever seen it done.

I just laugh at the notion that he's to somehow "enhance" his legacy by leading a Knicks team to a 7th or 8th seed, get bounced in the 1st round, and it'll somehow be better than winning more rings. Sure, whatever helps people sleep at night I guess.

I feel like deep down he wants to go back 2 OKC to try and copy LBJ but he ends up staying in GSW for like 4 championships

I have always liked that trade from the Knicks' perspective. To the point I consider Knicks won that trade.
