I don’t want to keep filling game threads with it, but I am not happy with Fox’s year. To show the talent he did early, and lately. Again, it’s either he physically can’t go a full year because he’s so underdeveloped, or it’s motor. No one questions Trae’s “imprint” nightly. He drives me nuts

The fan in me hopes once he gains muscle he will be consistent

It's no different than last year, it's coaching. Bagley is looking good but he's running a lot of the same crap as last year that they ran through Zbo. With the amount of possibilities in a two man between Fox and Bagley it's a disgrace.

Oh please god no. I tried to defend and stick with the guy, but anyone that talks up they want to be paid, then turn out a season like he has and expect to stay is insane.
Mark my words if he is with the Kings next season he is overpaid and won’t care one little bit about how the team performs.
He is the anti Kings and doesn’t belong, same as Boogie didn’t (I still love the big fella though haha).

Hild not zasluzeje maximum contract , maybe for starters he should be similar to G . Harris . Later, if you make it as Klay science play without the ball and be unselfish to think .. .

I worry about WCS becoming the next Jason Thompson contract.

This - he really isn't a great fit with the Kings. He isn't a great defensive rebounder or rim protector. And he clogs up the offense.

The ideal starting C for the Kings would have a high or really high DRB% that could shoot the 3 (allowing Bagley room to operate).

Another note: I really don't want to see Giles moved to the C - it would be like moving Bogs to SF - a disaster, IMO in terms of defense (others have a different opinion on this board). I think Giles would wear down very quickly playing against Cs in L.

Here are the UFR Cs for this off-season:
https://www.spotrac.com/nba/free-agents/ufa/center/

Code: Select all

Player           DRB%   3PT%   BLK%
Dewayne Dedmon   25.1   0.379   3.8
Brook Lopez      14.6   0.371   6.6
Nikola Vucevic   31.9   0.366   3.1
Richaun Holmes   20.4   0.351   5.7
Amir Johnson     19.3   0.324   1.9
Enes Kanter      23.7   0.318   1.3
Robin Lopez      10.2   0.250   4.5
JaVale McGee     21.5   0.125   7.4
Kyle O'Quinn     26.6   0.091   5.9
DeAndre Jordan   35.5   0.000   3.1

I think the Lopez Brothers are out since they aren't good defensive rebounders.

*Holmes (last time he was routinely shooting 3s)

I prefer Vucevic but he will be expensive. But one of Jordan, Vucevic, O'Quinn or Dedmon is going to get squeezed and be reasonable, My 1/2 cent :D

I think that isn't really showing up in the general stats, he is a plus/minus +6.9, best month for the season (and his career). Another way of looking at it was that he was -11.1 last March.

Could you give me examples? I am probably missing it.

Right. IMO just a bad player/influence. Any random big, like even McGee, on a team friendly deal is better IMO (McGee in my head as team just played Lakers last night)

Not sure what to take from a team stat like +/-.

IMO, which I know if controversial, and based on opinion, the dude goes half speed randomly. And he did that for a lot of last year. I personally can’t support him as a player unless the issue is he’s physically worn down. And there is no way of knowing that until he gets stronger/coming seasons if it’s a perpetual issue

Ah, got you - he isn't continually pushing the ball hard... we hear Joerger yelling - "GO!" often.

Don't know what that is... could be he is being coached to change speeds and just learning when to turn on the jets.

Willie wanted to get paid and yet is putting in crappy shifts time and time again. Reminds me of a picture where the C student proclaims he will get an A but still procrastinates throughout the school semester. At the end, he gets his C and looks dumbfounded.

Sorry Willie but I hope I won’t see you next season. Let him be someone else’s problem.

Fantastic effort by him. Would be great to see him neck and neck with the top two next season.

Barnes rounding into the player we initially expected lately. Will be interesting to see what he does, or what contract is offered to him

He'll definitely exercise his option. No one will pay him 25 millions per year.

I disagree. With all the money out there in free agency, I can see him getting a four year, 70 million contract. He would definitely opt out if he can get that. Plus, the Kings are going to discuss contracts with him before hand, so he should know what his floor on a contract will be.

The last part of this is why he will certainly opt out. Vlade has made it known they want to sign him to a longer contract to lock him in. I don’t know how low we can go, but I think his stint here has only made him want to buy in on the Kings.

I hate to go back somewhat on what I said about Barnes, but IMO he shouldn’t be making more than 12-13. He hasn’t affected winning or losing and he’s more a 4th/5th option

Harry Giles being shut down for the season. He progressed real nicely this year and I think this is a good decision, play it safe no reason to risk anything now that we’re officially out of the playoff hunt. Let’s hope he builds some strength this summer and can come in next year and take a step forward on the defensive end, that would be ideal. His offense is going to be there, he has the natural feel for it, I want to see him put in some work on the other end.

Honestly why the hell do we continue to give WCS minutes? The guy is completely worthless. I'd rather see what caleb swanigan can do and let bagley start at center.
