Re: Award Winning Lakers Board NBA Dynasty League - Year 5
We already voted and there's 7 guys who voted yes. We're doing this ****.
You don't have to carry a full roster of competent NOW guys, some of us want to stash for the future and it's our right to do it.
We can't do that now, when injuries hit or guys are sitting because of tanking, and other **** drop everything from their roster for the FA trash, not thinking about tomorrow but right now. You can't compete with that nonsense.
It's a dynasty league, you get to keep your roster for next year. You don't get to redraft.
There are plenty FA who are usable even with an expanded roster. What the flying ****? If you expect your adds to give starters numbers you shouldn't play fantasy. You need to settle for less and that's it.

Lol at you calling people out for picking up FA trash. Priceless.
Who knows if this league even runs for another 5 years...this whole stashing for the future stuff is just stupid. No need to fix something that isn't broken.

Stupid my ass. It's a dynasty league, that's what it's all about, planning for the future.
We had a yearly fantasy league, wasn't that much fun.
League won't die, if you plan on quitting in the near future just do it and shut it.
It's your opinion and that's it. Again, me, Ty, Optms, coach-bdj, moonie, KJG and tugs already voted for roster expansion.
TylersLakers and Wavy didn't say a thing, while you, Gus and Earl are against it.
It doesn't even matter if TylersLakers and Wavy say no to the expansion, the numbers for it are still there. We're doing it.

Guys like you are always planning for the future, and never have a concrete plan in sight. You're three years away from being three years away...the leagues Bruno Caboclo.

As do I, but I don't see myself being as engaged if the waiver wire is nonexistant. I might as well just set my roster of the rest of the year and only check back in at the end of the season.

When was the vote? (I doubt coach BDJ voted for it). Your concern about teams doing too many pickups is odd because your team has the most pickups? This can be fixed by limiting the # of pickups on the season (maybe reduce from unlimited to 40 or 50.) I have a 50 max in my other league and it definitely comes into play. If it's really important than go to 40. I don't see who's guilty of not planning for the future?

Man speak for yourself, I was having a blast.
Still think we should do Dynasty league + one non keeper league (with possible $$$) for all those that missed out or just want to do it for ish and giggles without long term commitment.
I will suggest it again to Ty at next winter meetings

Regarding expansion, the more pressing issue I see here is the hoarding tendencies of managers. Let's be honest, we're all guilty of this.
If we were to expand, activating healthy players from IL must be strictly followed. Penalized if someone does not comply. Imagine an already thin FA pool then those serviceable are kept inactive.

Ill say it again. I'm against expansion. Either add a roster spot and take away an IL.
Like someone above said, if it aint broke, don't fix it.

Oh my bad EArl. I meant expansion as expanding roster size.

This should be the best time to discuss this while most are active (damn it Wavy where are you).
I am pro adding even 1-2 roster spots for the simple reason of getting serviceable players when most of my team is injured. Not even IL, just roster spots.
Dynasty pretty much resembles what's going on in the real world. As RO mentioned, GMs with solid players don't have the luxury of shuffling via adds and drops. Sure long term stashing could be a valid reason, but main is having players that can play.

Hasn't been mentioned yet, but I'd also like to bring up the issue of "load management" as an argument for expansion. It's happening more and more often these days, especially late in fantasy season where playoffs/titles can be decided based on a guy sitting out even just one game for rest purposes

Well, if we have to do a re-count, I'm indifferent but I don't see that many negative setbacks by going from 15 to 17. Although I could be convinced otherwise since like Regime said, the current size format is not really broken.

Re: Award Winning Lakers Board NBA Dynasty League - Year 5
The downside of roster expansion is the league becomes less active due to a worse waiver wire. Load management is a reality of basketball. We can move the playoffs up if that’s an issue. But really it’s part of the game. If you draft a GS warrior or a player who’s gonna be eliminated in the playoffs then they may sit. That’s always been a reality.
