Wizards Looking At Nuggets' Tim Connelly To Replace Ernie Grunfeld

The Washington Wizards are looking to hire Tim Connelly from the Denver Nuggets to replace Ernie Grunfeld as the president of basketball operations.


Connelly, who began his career as an intern for the Wizards, has impressed with his work in building the Nuggets.


Connelly just recently signed a new contract with the Nuggets.

Connelly signed a new contract extension with the Nuggets just two months ago.


He’s not going anywhere.

Wizards going to be giving up more assets just to pry him loose. Maybe find someone in your budget, who isn't contracted, and who needs an opportunity to prove themselves. One would also think Connolly wants to see his construction compete for a championship before moving on.

Hey the Wizards offer job security. If a bum like Grunfeld got 16 years. Even a competent GM might get a lifetime deal. Just saying.

The irony of them wanting an intern back, after years of squandering every other asset, is wonderful.
