Apparently the Indians haven’t had a no-hitter in 38 years.

So we can't hit breaking balls huh?
Ska needs to make a comeback.

Seems just to be an issue with breaking balls, off speed, and fastballs. Other than that, the bats are looking pretty good.

most unwatchable jay team in some time...worse than that year with lind/hill about 8-9 seasons ago.

baseball isnt bball you cant sell tanking that method rarely works or youth. Youth in baseball is just a bunch of guys who cant hit and like donaldson once said its not the try hard league its the get it done league. I'll wait until they call up vladdy/bischette before i begin watching and im sure im not the only one.

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Small tradeoff though, because to date we've been better defensively than the Red Sox, Indians, Yankees and A's, so we're probably going to win 95 games.

Moreso than almost any other sport, Baseball is hard to watch when your team sucks.

At least this particular variety of suck. There's fun to be had with a team that mashes, but has garbage pitching (and especially if they have a comically inept defense), but a team that can't score runs, nor get runners on base, is definitely tough viewing.

Goes without saying that the offense won't be this bad all year, though on the flip side neither is this a top three pitching staff over the course of a full season. We're actually outscoring our opposition, which doesn't feel like it should be right given that I can't remember us ever scoring.

Can’t see the offense increasing to the degree that the pitching will invariably decrease which means playing .375 baseball is about as good as it’s gonna get and we’ve hit our pinnacle in winning % in early April. It’s gonna be a struggle just to avoid 100 losses.

Takes genuine effort to lose 100, and I doubt we're quite that bad; last year's three 100+ loss teams is an anomaly, as losing 100 generally earns one the crown of worst team in baseball (and often by some margin).

90+ is certainly within the realm of reason, though. Wouldn't be at all surprising if we end up 68-94 or something.

This game is going over 3 hours with 4 total runs and with one team getting no hits and the Indians not having to bat in the bottom of the 9th. We really need a pitch clock or ratings will continue to plummet.

those guys are elite prospects.

this regime is trying to sell off guerriel/drury/jansen as youth. These guys are all projects.

"This regime" isn't trying to sell Jansen as quality youth. He's a top 100 prospect in every ranking system, top 50 in many. A bad week doesn't change that.

To be fair to them, they have a BaBIP around .240, that's going to rebound by quite a bit. It's also going to be helped when Vlad comes up. The team isn't going to be good but they won't be abysmal. I can't see them winning more than 70 games in a best case scenario though.

Winning 60 games is about as good as it’s going to get this year?

This regime is trying to sell Vlad Jr as some sort of “prospect”. Real, astute fans like johanliebert and ratul know he’s just some fat kid who’s being hyped because of his famous father.

So, yeah, that's what Brito's good for.
