2020 NBA Draft
I was surprised there’s no thread for this class yet. The McDonalds All-American game was this past week and no one here talked about it. I think this draft will be stronger at the top, I really like these players and these guys have a lot of hype from team USA workouts.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft
Probably keep the pick in 2020, it's early but it looks like a weak class at the top but kinda even and deep, so if you are theoretically getting a similar pick in the top10, you have a better shot at high end talent next year
Obv, barring getting the 1st pick this year, which trumps that
2020 reminds me of 2017, not in a good way

If your Memphis you just want to get the pick sent away and be done with it, which is way they're clearly going hard at making this late push.
If it doesn't convey this year they'll be likely trying to get it conveyed next year. Sending away an unprotected 2021 1st, if they can't make a huge improvement until then (which is looking less likely by the day, honestly), would be the real problem for them.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft
Josh Green had an impressive game in the win for the high school championship.
He's projected as 10th so it looks like it might be a deep draft.

What was good? No legit #1 prospect level talent, deep draft but pretty weak upside, it was an average to below average class

It was terrible. In a few years, we might conclude Thomas Bryant was a top 5 player from that draft.

Fultz was a #1 prospect level talent, it's just hindsight to say he wasn't. Even if he wasn't, why should how strong a draft class is be based on who the #1 pick was? Celtics got Tatum, Kings got Fox, Bulls got Lauri(I don't think he's a good player but other people do), etc. A lot of teams got better because of the 2017 draft.

Not sure if as a mod you are on your best behaviour with that type of posting Ruzious, been blatantly sarcastic and adding nothing to the discussion kinda blows
Fultz was not an elite level guy, he was good, he was also not close to a high end #1 level guy, even pre-draft, drafts have to be evaluated at one point in hindsight though, that class doesn't have any franchise level changer, there is talent (there is in any draft) and the depth is good, but the class overall has panned out to be average to below average
Also, the high-end talent of a class define the class way more than the depth does, at least to me
2017 is/projects to be a worse class to me than 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and obviously 2018, probably on pair with 2014 and 2015, better than 2016 (worst class of the decade so far), and we will see with 2019 and 2020
All of this it's to say that a class feeling "similar" to 2017, ain't great, so we can go back to 2020, which like I said, could be similar to the aforementioned draft class

Bryant is first in the entire class in WS/48, 7th in BPM and 11th in VORP.

I think Edwards and Anthony are super stud prospects and can't wait to see Wiseman and McDaniels in college. Those two Im still not sold on, just need to see more of them.

Anthony Edwards is oozing with potential, especially if he grows another 2 or 3 inches.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft
There is a chance RJ Hamptom reclassifies. Not sure how much of a chance but it has been considered by him. The other Memphis team (University of Memphis) would love to get RJ, have him reclassify, and pair him with Wiseman.
And I think Memphis Grizzlies want to convey this year but are ok if for some reason they don't. Ideally we get #1 but I think the plan most fans/media are pulling for is for us to make it to 9th worst record. We either get a top 4 pick which would be cool or we convey the pick, move Conley this offseason as well as potentially JV if he opts in and we get a decent offer, and then be young and bad for a hopefully better picks than #8 this draft.

No qualms about his attitude? Perhaps the laziest player I have watched in High School in the past few years. Even Michael Porter Jr. at least cared about crashing the glass and ramped up his effort during the HS All-Star Games.
I foresee Harden defense and Kobe shot selection if he isn't put on a tight leash (and if he is, then that means he probably didn't reach his potential and then what's point with a player like him?). So there is a path to superstardom, but a lot of things have to break right and if they don't it's going to be a big issue. Could be DeRozan with a more obvious lack of effort.
Defense like Harden not only in the sense that they are both bad but also in terms of what they are bad at. Both disengaged, both easily blown by all the time (!) (which is probably also exacerbated by deficient lateral quickness, not only poor awareness or laziness), but with the occasional defensive play where they can use their size to give people some (quick to be shattered) hope. Watch him defend ball handlers, it's painful.
Crazy potential, but the head has to be right in order to achieve anything special and I haven't seen that at all yet. Not on defense, not on offense, not in his interviews. Hopefully that can still be corrected.

I don't know what your problem is - or if you have trouble understanding English. I wasn't being sarcastic and wasn't even disagreeing with you. No more comments from you about moderating will be accepted. And no more laughing at other posters comments.
