this is a weak draft class when normally a kid with is talent probably is a late lottery pick. He is a mid lottery pick in this draft. He would be stupid not to go into the NBA.

The flaw in this mindset is neither KD nor Kyrie are the elite vision passers that Lebron and Draymond are.

Frank really can be that guy for us. Been saying it since day 1 and I’ve been Franks biggest critic. He’s not a PG but an excellent off ball facilitator. If we get the big FAs and Frank stays, well see how much he impacts the game as a role player. Just needs to become a knock down shooter. This is the summer to work on that.

Frank will be perfect in that Pablo Prigioni role during our 54-win season.

According to ESPN's Jonathan Givony, USC freshman shooting guard Kevin Porter Jr. will enter the 2019 NBA Draft.
Porter (6'6/218) is one of the most intriguing talents in this year's draft pool. Offensively he has the ability to get a basket at any point, but he wasn't the most consistent player in his lone season at USC. This past season he averaged 9.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 three-pointers per game, shooting 47.1% from the field, 41.2% from three and 52.2% from the foul line. Porter missed time in November and December due to a thigh injury, and he was also suspended for a couple games in January for an unspecified violation of team rules. Porter is viewed as a player with top-5 talent by some, and he's expected to be drafted either late in the lottery or just outside of it.

Kentucky freshman shooting guard Tyler Herro announced Friday that he has decided to enter the 2019 NBA Draft.
When Herro (6'5/195) arrived in Lexington, few expected him to be a "one-and-done" player. But that could very well be the way in which this works out, as he's projected by more than a few scouts to be a mid-first round pick. This past season the Wisconsin native averaged 14.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.6 three-pointers per game, with shooting percentages of 46.2% from the field, 35.5% from three and 93.5% from the foul line. Herro, one of the players entrusted with the task of shutting down Winthrop's prolific shooter/scorer Fletcher Magee in their second round NCAA tournament matchup, gets after it on both ends of the floor and offensively can be a combo guard that can be used either on (especially in ball screens) or off the ball.

Stanford sophomore small forward KZ Okpala announced Thursday that he will enter the 2019 NBA Draft.
Okpala (6'9/215) has left open the possibility of his returning to school for his junior season, and he will have until May 29 to withdraw his name. As a sophomore, he averaged 16.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.1 three-pointers per game with shooting splits of 46.3/36.8/67.1. While there's still work to be done from a skill set standpoint, Okpala has the physical tools that a lot of NBA teams look for in power forward prospects. He's projected to be a late-first round selection, which could make the decision about whether or not to return to Stanford a toss-up.

What? You are comparing a very experienced and cerebral international PG at the end of his career to a usually scared 20 years old sophomore who despite have great physical atributes cant see consistent minutes at the floor and dont Know which position can play in a NBA level. The role will never be equal.

I am under impression that Culver is more NBA ready and he is currently a better off ball player to help our future FAs.

Yeah agree with you and have to admit I’ve been frustrated with Frank as well and that we reaches big time with that 8th pick.

But the kid is not yet a finished product and one of the positive traits he had entering the draft is his basketball iq and playmaking.

You don't draft the most NBA-ready player, especially not to fit around guys who aren't even on the team.

Remember, the narrative in 2014 was that Frank Kaminsky and Willie Cauley-Stein were more NBA-ready players than KP who was the upside pick. Injury aside, we all know how that turned out.

You pick the guy you believe has the chance to become the best NBA player down the line (out of every player that's left on the board). If you're already a championship contender and you need one more piece, then maybe you consider taking the more NBA-ready player. But in any other circumstance, you go with the highest upside.

True that

But at 3 that question is kinda hard

Culver has that high floor low ceiling thing
Barrett has a high ceiling on the right team but that team probably isn’t the Knicks if we add anyone significant. He’s a first option. In his own head.

I come back sometimes to reddish as the swing for the fences pick. He’s kinda built for the nba. He was just very underwhelming in college

The Celtics losing practically all their tiebreakers makes me nervous.

Return to New York Knicks
