for our 2nd round pick, if available, i would take a flyer on Carson Edwards. not afraid of the big shots, can create for himself. was BIG Ten scoring leader

All the usual suspects at wing being thrown around here are 100% in agreement for me. At least one of them will be available at 16. Take who falls to us.

Grabbing a strong stretch-4 prospect in the second round would be my goal.

The Magic should swing for the fences w/16 like Hammond did getting Giannis. Shouldn't draft for need at 16.

Reminds me of shorter Sabonis, really skilled in post.

Shorter? Isn’t he 7’3”? More like skinnier and not the passer Sabonis was. He is more like KP with a longer wingspan

Im talking about Rui Hacimura, who is 6'8. I assume you think about Taco

Sign me up for NAW or Rui if either are available

In the 2nd, i really would love to swing for the fences and draft Darius Bazley and see what hes got

Hehe, not having looked at draft threads here I've been doing a little research recently I came to the conclusion that -realistically- we should target Nickeil Alexander-Walker. Funny how that works.

Hopefully his stock doesn't rise too much. Darius Garland is an interesting guy to take a chance on too, but he will probably be gone when we pick. Overall this draft doesn't match up well with our biggest need (perimeter shot creation/playmaking). It looks like it's mostly a bunch of forwards/big men this year.

It would be hard to find difference maker with 16th pick. I think this draft has some depthjust where we need it- bolstering our bench. We will find our shot creation via trade od signing soon enough ;)
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

^ Just because we need a star who can do some of those things doesn't mean such a skill set (at a lesser talent level) isn't welcome in other spots in the rotation, too. Especially if Ross should leave.

Also, you should always hope for an (offensive?) difference maker at points in the draft where it's not necessarily expected, even if the odds are low. Think Donovan Mitchell, Michael Redd, Danny Granger and the two Spurs guys among other examples.

P.S. not that I don't appreciate role players who do their thing and do it well. Obviously a team needs those as well.

I think he'll be a lock for top 10 after he starts working out for teams.

Way too early to get a sense of who will be around at 16.

At 49, I'll happily take Aubrey Dawkins or Tacko Fall.

agree.. after seeing what Boban is doing to the Nets, getting Tacko in the 2nd round is good enough.

Although knowing our GM, they probably trade it seeing as the draft flattened out

why do so many people want tacko? i literally cant think of a bigger (pun intended) waste of a pick
We already have 3 centers on the roster who are LIGHT YEARS better than him, and even if birch leaves, we still have other guys who can be the 3rd center (like isaac).

Taking tacko would be a lazy pick and a really low reward pick. I get its a 2nd rounder, but theres is much better ways to use that pick

16th pick - Not a big. Ability to create offense.
46th pick- Not a big. Ability to create offense.

Nothing else matters.

Okpala, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Langford or trade pick for guard or wing that can play with ball in his hands ( Beal, Holiday,Josh Richardson, Will Barton, Malik Beasley...)

At 46, it the Magic can get a practice-squad player that can play 3rd string minutes, then this is a good pick. Actually a PF can make sense in this context. Ethan Happ could be the sort of player I imagine.

These two players replace Jerian Grant and Jarell Martin next year so our depth will be insane compared to this season.

I said this before but getting a guy that lasts longer than 4 years would be a gift. I think you take the highest upset player at the spot regardless of position because you can find bench players all over and without a star to build around, you gotta keep grabbing at home run talent and hope you find the next siakam or mitchell.

I'm going to add Miye Oni to the same tier as NAW and Keldon Johnson, maybe even higher than them. Competition he's playing against makes it tough to scout, but he's absolutely an NBA athlete and what stood out to me the most is how comfortable he is getting his own shot in the halfcourt. Isos, PnR, post, it doesn't matter. Plus he shows some good passing ability.

I'd like to see us grab someone like Iggy Brazdeikis in the second, reminds me a bit of Kurucs and put up good numbers as a Freshman at Michigan. Shot the 3-ball at just under 40% on the year too.
