Kawhi downplaying, changing the topic, and not answering questions about his personal PPG and instead focusing on team, defense and the Raptors winning.
Kawhi wanting to get pulled out of the game earlier once he felt the game was in hand and looking at the bench to encourage Nurse to pull him.

Even Kawhi is dumbfounded by Nick Thibodeau's inability to take starters out when the game is over. Glad someone brought it up to him. Maybe he'll actually change his behavior.

In this modern game, a 20 point lead evaporates quickly. Just because Kawhi wanted to come off doesn't mean Nurse made the wrong call.
The Nurse hate is as irrational as the Kawhi and Gasol hate on this forum. Nurse is not perfect but I would say he is already in that 2nd tier of coaches in the league and is rapidly nearing that top tier.
Just like Masai is writing the book on managing a roster in the modern NBA, Nurse will soon be the standard for coaching as other teams imitate his concepts.
I anticipate his matchup related C rotation and concepts of experimentation in the regular season, saving plays for the playoffs will become industry standards for teams wanting to compete for championships.

Well and to that point, our 3rd stringers killed what was a 20+pt lead and all we did was watch it RAPIDLY decrease to the point I remember thinking thank God these losers weren't brought in a couple minutes earlier or we may have an unthinkable close game where we need to bring starters back in and risk a loss smdh

Our bench is straight up trash. Fred puts up nice offensive numbers and fake assists but he doesn't run the offense smoothly at all.
Against the Warriors that's what is supposed to be our advantage. They better step the **** up.

Our bench hasn't been an advantage at any point at all this season. This isn't last year anymore.
This year's group has always been about the starting 5, which has so far been statistically the best unit in the NBA this year, and the theory was how the playoffs would mitigate our substandard bench because of the shorter rotation.

Can we please stop looking to assign blame on any part of the team? The bench is good for what they are. Our advantage or lack there of against the other team's bench will not win championships. Raptors will win using the best 5 man units. Thankfully, the Raptors have assembled a number of amazing line ups (some of which include bench players) that are capable of generating leads for us. The Raptors are well built, health being a very important factor.

I realize that but I've been frustrated with the inconsistency of the bench. Fred, Ibaka, Norm are great role players. They should be playing better as a unit.

I think they missed last year's Delon, who struggled with injuries this season before he was traded, and I think Fred had a career year last year and he's come down to earth a little this season. Also CJ Miles fell off a cliff.
We traded the strength of our depth last year to bolster our starting 5 this year. During the DD and Lowry era, our starters were never really good enough to match some of the better teams' starters, and our bench would have to bail them out time and again during the regular season. In the playoffs this was a problem because the bench wasn't as effective against playoff teams playing their best guys more minutes and our starters getting their lunches eaten by opposing starters.

I’m not saying take the starters out when the other team still has their starters in. I mean when the other team has clearly given up, there’s no sense keeping our starters in an extra 2-3 minutes. Nurse hasn’t been good at recognizing that.

This game was amazing. Never have we seen this type of domination before. I hope for more of the same tomorrow, but expect Philly to make some adjustments for it

if a pathological liar, lifetime crook, racist, and molesting pig who regularly ignores the constitution, trashes military heroes and sucks up to national enemies is the best president for conservatives then what does that say about conservatives?

I like what Kawhi and Pascal provided. It's like Pascal is just emulating his big bro. This family is efficient in the playoffs.
The good thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.
The bad thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.

Nice to see we can mentally crush a team like the Cavs used to do to us.
I don't think it's gonna be over in 5 or that he intimidated by us.

Got me. I gave the Raps way too much credit and thought they had some balls this year. But I might still be right about it being over in 5 lol.

We literally improve every game so far in the playoffs. This team right now would win 15 straight in the regular season.
Looked like we peaked in game 1.
