So that probably means " Sarver is gonna interview another inexperienced assistant, who has never be a HC before and is gonna be super cheap and obedient."

Name the list time Gambo has been correct

The closest I can recall is if they didn't trade with the Sixers they would have drafted the Villanova kid - DiVenzio (sp)

and he had Devon Reed correct - inexplicably . When the damn pick should have been Jordan Bell

Gambo has become a mouthpiece for Ainge or anybody who wants to share wrong information

Now as I type this, he will report Jason Kidd and he will be right. But Gambo just doesn't have the sources with the Suns. Especially with the new team in town. They aren't going to trust him.

It is not about Gambo, it is about any report since Sarver and Monty met yesterday.

We want him, but Monty did not say yes to us. So it is makes sense to do more interviews.

What can we do if Williams are thinking about it for the next couple of weeks? We need to study other options, because he can say no to us. Easily.

Too bad Sarver couldn’t do this for a coach with a proven winning record like Budenholzer :banghead:

Bud would have never chosen the Suns over the Bucks. Not given Sarver's reputation OR the talent disparity. It was obvious he was using us.

If we don't get Monty I don't think it will be money. It will be because he has what he considers a better position with likely more stability.

I'm not terribly high on Monty but I think our team will be much improved regardless due to just internal improvement based on so many rookies having experience and working, some roster improvements (hopefully) and health. And I think they players would like and respect Monty, which is important. I still will worry about 3s and D which, if you don't have, makes winning difficult unless you get on fire or another team has a bad night.

He likely said he wants to finish the playoffs and assess his options/discuss with his family.

Hey guys, I saw several threads about the Suns looking for new coach, but I feel like I missed something - did you get a new GM? I must have missed it... Or are you looking for a new GM? Why would you hire a new coach without the involvement of the new GM in the search? This makes zero sense as a neutral fan watching from the sidelines...

Where are the coaching vacancies today: Cleveland, Phoenix, Los Angeles and Memphis.

From what I have gathered - the only two candidates that cross teams, besides Williams are Vanterpool and Tibbetts. The Grizzlies might hire Jasikevicius (sp). Maybe the Cavs hire Vanterpool before there is a finality with Williams. So I am not sure now the Suns have to worry about losing an "assistant".

The tweet from Gambo said other candidates - curious to see who those candidates are. My guess, like BWG said, he wants to finalize the Sixers season and figure out whats best for he and the family moving forward. A lot has happened in his life and in three years he has gone from Married with 5 kids in OKC to a single Dad with 5 kids in OKC to living in San Antonio and now Philly. My guess - he may want to get things settled for a bit in his life.

We fired our gm at beginning of season and moved James Jones to interim GM. After the season we removed James interim title and hired a senior advisor in Jeff Bower.

James then fired Igor (hc) after season ended. Both James and Bower have connections to Monty and we are going after Monty as our next hc.

Oh, thanks... that makes more of a sense. How do you feel about the James-Bower combo?

There are mixed feelings.
Personally I really like it. Jones best strength has been biggest complaint about our previous FO (communication and player relations)
So far we have seen a lot of good moves from jones this season, but he has a really important summer coming up.

There is a chance some playoff teams have openings. Possibly Philly, but I think is some speculation that Billy Donovan could go, and Monty coached there...was associate head coach I think when his wife died.

This tweet from Stein is pretty interesting. Hopefully it is true and Lue signs with the Lakers.

Yeah... feeling like our biggest competition is the sixers..

We haven’t been this vested in a playoff series in a while. What do we cheer for? 76ers loss in 7 while Brett Brown keeps his job? Or do we hope 76ers win and risk Monty waiting in 2+ weeks to get kicked from playoffs and make a decision?

I don't believe any competent person would want to work for Sarver. I have no hope for a good coach.

It's not an ideal situation but there are only 30 of these jobs in the world and you get a guaranteed contract for millions of dollars.

Being super cheap is expensive, because no one wants to work/play for a cheapazz buffoon you have to always overpay to hire anyone that is somewhat competent.

- One thing Bob Sarver wishes he had learned before he became an NBA owner.

Any chance Mike D gets fired from Rockets if Warriors blow him out? Would you want him back?

Return to Phoenix Suns
