Any of these guys would be great from the sounds of things, though pairing them would be even better. Something like Howard (defence) with Finch as lead assistant (offence) could turn the team around right quick.

I 100% believe in Ryan, but there is a very real possibility he will not get the job.

Would Ryan accept a job with another team if an offer comes while the team openly looks for a possible replacement?

Can't imagine it's a healthy feeling for him having them shop his job atm and yet tell him he's still in the running. I suppose that's the deal when you accept a mid season interim role.

would be a shocker if Ryan doesn't get the job, but It'd also mean that Rosas isn't messing around.
But I have a hard time to belive he could sell it to Glen to move on from Ryan after only half a season.

I wouldn't really call it "shopping his job" or "looking for his replacement." The team is looking for the best candidate for the full-time position, which Ryan never held. He's absolutely still in the running.

We could use this guy!

I am so excited. For the longest time I've been told that keeping Saunders was a done deal. Here are his zero credentials Minimus.

Houston Rockets

Finch was hired as an Assistant Coach for the Houston Rockets in 2011. Finch is well regarded in the NBA as one of the top offensive-minded coaches. Finch was named Associate Head Coach in 2014.

Im excited too! It seems that Fitch and Rosas have worked before in HOU. So it definitely makes sense.

I don't think anyone has ever said it was a done deal.

I think it is better to be a young assistant coach in a winning team, then young HC in losing team. I am sure that Ryan is a smart guy.

Depends. Each job has it's own unique set of conditions. Ideally you're judging the coach based on how he responds to those conditions, not necessarily the results.

If this is real, then he is the guy to hire. Bring back Ryan as a lead assistant.

What is the precedent for Interim coaches returning as an assistant.

Conducting a search and choosing Saunders will actually benefit Saunders - inside and outside the locker room. And if he’s not chosen, the Wolves will (theoretically) have a great new coach. Win-win.

I have read a lot of things saying that Ryan was a done deal. Not sure how much of it was here.

At this point in time with my hopes elevated so much based on the candidates available I will go into deep, dark, depression if Ryan is retained.

I know Krawczynski thinks Saunders is still the favorite, but worth mentioning he thought Booth/Billups were the favorites going into the POBO interviews and Rosas blew the team away. Now this hiring process will be done more by Rosas and not that committee, but I think the best candidate will get the job. One thing Saunders has in his favor is that none of the other candidates have NBA head coaching experience either, so everybody seems to be on a more level playing field going into it.

It is like everything is moving too fast now in MIN. It is a very different feeling after Thibs era. I hope our off-season (e.g. FAs talks, draft etc) will have same dynamic!
