Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr.

Post#1 » by contestedlayups » Wed May 15, 2019 1:14 pm

Not sure how this hasn't had a thread quite yet, but this is going to be one of the most exciting pairings in the NBA starting next season, assuming that Memphis doesn't do something crazy and draft someone else. I can see Memphis going with 2 PG lineups with Conley and Morant on the floor at the same time, due to Morant's range that he displayed in the NCAA tournament. This much is for certain: they're going to be a league pass team next year for sure.

Either way that's probably the last place team in the West. Especially if they move Conley.

Solid duo but it is going to be a rough few years in Memphis but with those two at least they may be able to turn it around.

JJ Jr needs to move to full time C.

I'd sell high on Jonas V and shunt him off somewhere for some better fitting value.

I think Jonas and JJJ is actually a pretty good fit considering JJJ is not a very good rebounder as of now. I would not want to move him at center until his rebounding improves.

Yeah, a couple young studs isn’t gonna win anything in the west. Ask Phoenix. The best player they have is Mike Conley, and they’ll have to love him for Morant to get minutes. But nobody is going to give much talent for him with that contract he has.

What do we think happens with Delon Wright?

What’s the protection on their 2020 pick looking like? Worth keeping Conley to try and not suck so the damage isn’t as bad?

I think his future was always that of a 6th man type. Morant shouldn’t alter their decision to re-sign him or not.

Nurse is below average at best.
Masai is overrated.
I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

Which would make this coming season the perfect one to tank. Get the highest pick possible to add to the core and hope Brooks, Bruno, Anderson and Wright show improvement

I think Conley is gone this summer. He has all but asked out. He also may get a somewhat decent return since he is one of the best players actually available on the market even if his contract isn't ideal.

That's what I was wondering....as a Cavs fan I was thinking he might actually be a good fit with Sexton if the Grizz aren't planning to keep him long term.

Dream scenario for the Grizzlies yes they won't win right a way because the west is rough right now.

Jaren and Morant

Vs

Donic and Porzingis(if healthy)

Will rule the West in future.

they would compete for the last place with suns imo. The west is really STACKED.

Rookies PG need time to develop, and i dont think Ja Morant is as same level as prospect as Doncic and Trae, both of them contribute to wins for their team in their first year.

I think he could potentially be on Trae's level but his supporting cast will likely be worse than what Trae had (depending on the Conley trade). Even if he plays really friggin well for a rookie, Memphis should be a low end team.
