I'm excited. Looking forward to that next wave of stars.

KP/Doncic
Morant/JJJ
Fox/Bagley
Booker/Ayton
Zion/Tatum?

The west is going to have some pretty exciting young duos

Jaren and Morant

Vs

Donic and Porzingis(if healthy)

Will rule the West in future.

Don't sleep on Fox/Bagley and Zion/+whatever the Pels get for AD

Future is bright if the Grizzlies draft Ja Morant and he lives up to expectations. JJJ had a solid rookie year and has the potential to be a very good player.

Morant and Jaren could be what Marbury and Garnett were supposed to be in Minnesota.

I’m glad OP made this thread. This is the most exciting, under the radar thing that happened last night. Morant and Jackson Jr together is super, super exciting.

I think the Grizz need to move Conley ASAP now. Turn the keys over to the young guys, get some good value out of Conley while they can, and go from there.

the fanbase is ecstatic right now.Yeah we will be bad for a few seasons but at least we have something exciting to watch while we rebuild. Morant is electric and the city desperately needed some good luck. We could just as easily have been picking 8th. This makes conveying the pick to boston much easier to stomach

Grizzlies deserve it. They tried competing for so long when they could've easily torn it down and tanked during the Grindhouse era like so many teams would've. It's nice to see them get rewarded. JJJ and Morant should be a nasty duo for years.

This might have been may favorite thing about the lottery last night. Ja and JJJ should be a really good combo.

JJJ is actually working out with Garnett some this offseason like he did last year. Ja is supposedly working out with Ray Allen.

This- I think Conley has good value with the right trading partner, and that trade along with Ja can jumpstart the rebuilding process. It makes a big difference when you're a young 25-30 win team with hope, than say a 30-35 win team on the way down.

I think they have to move Conley and try for a bottom 6 pick next year. Then, they will have cap space to make a jump in 2021, right when they have to surrender their pick (Sac style)

What do you suggest? Here are some things that come to mind without thinking too much:

- Pistons for a Kennard+-type
- Pacers for a Bogs-type
- Wolves for a Okogie, Saric, or RoCo type

Take the ideas with a grain of salt. There probably is some mild bias involved since I'm partial to a certain team in each transaction.

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. Valenciunas looked like he’s going to become the talent that made him a Top 5 pick and they were winning games with him and without JJJ and Kyle Anderson. He helped them beat Houston and quite a few others so the Grizz could be better than people think with the right coaching hire.

JJJ and Ja is a nice young duo. Probably another 3-5 years of lottery but if they can draft well, they could be a force one day.

Morant and Jackson would be an awesome young duo and I think they will pick Morant, but I don't think its a done deal that he goes 2nd. RJ is the kind of prospect that teams can talk themselves into.

I'm really high on JJJ and think he will be a better Ibaka with a 3 point shot, but I think we should pump the brakes a bit for Morant. The kid could be special, but to anoint them on the same level as Doncic and Porzingis and a top young duo is premature imo.
