It’s still mind boggling that Paul George decided to kill his career and stay with okc

Post#1 » by darkse1d » Wed May 15, 2019 6:29 pm

This is the guy who was going toe to toe with lebron James just a few years back before his injuries and now he’s literally have to carry Westbrook and okc to first round exits for the next 3-4 years.

I can’t imagine any other star or superstar that would make a decision similar to Paul George. He picked comfort over winning. Years back he will look back in this decision and will kick himself for staying.

IMO he will give okc one more year to fix the roster and he’ll demand a trade.

It wasn't that long ago that people were talking up OKC as perhaps the team with the best chance to knock off the Warriors. He did get hurt, and never recovered.

Its mind boggling that he decided to throw down a double-clutch dunk in garbage team while being down 0-2 and proceeded to lose the next 2 games.

2 seasons. 2 first round exits.

He and westbrook were both bad in the first round, he wasnt carrying anything especially after the all star break where he slumped majorly. They both need to look at each other in the mirrors and play better next year because theyre definitely capable. Only time will tell whether he made the right choice or not.

OKC is a good spot for him. I was only surprised he didn’t sign on for max years/money.

How did he kill his career?
He was in the MVP conversation before he was hurt.

Whats is his contract again? Didn't he sign for 2 + 1 instead of 4 + 1?

Perish the thought that a player goes to a team where he is happy and well paid. It's all about legacy, no matter the cost, right?

He didn't decide to kill his career. I'm pretty sure he believed OKC would be a force with him and Westbrook leading. Plus he seems to love it there so it was definitely a. Non-career-killing-motivated move.

Only bored housewives and little kids worry about a players' legacy.

Paul George is happy to play in OKC and makes more money in one day than most of this board's members make in an entire year.

I think he'll be fine.

It's not mind boggling that he decided to stay in OKC over signing with the Lakers. However, what IS mind boggling is if you factor in that he took less money to leave Indy and go to OKC.

He would have had a better team, a clearer path to the conference finals/Finals, same market and more money by staying with the Pacers. I guess to each is his own.

PG bought into the Westbrook hype. There were definitely moments this year when you could tell he regretted it though... Westbrook ends up rubbing most players the wrong way eventually. It's why Harden and Durant had no choice but to leave...

Ummm. He tore his rotator cuff and was playing hurt for the final third of the season. His team dropped off cause of it but they were still playing great most of the year and he was a serious MVP candidate.

He’s probably going to get 1st team all NBA, in spite of a pretty serious injury affecting his performance, that’s how good he was. Worst case 2nd team.

And he likes playing w/ Russ who is a good friend and they have young families w/ kids around the same age. He’s living the good life and the two of them are probably partying on a beach outside of their LA mansions right now while the haters on the board imagine them in a barren field in Oklahoma or something w/ cows or some stuff...while they feel better about themselves cause they are in a average home and neighborhood in a more “exciting city” - lol.
