Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu May 16, 2019 1:51 am

The Memphis Grizzlies reportedly intend on selecting Ja Morant with their second pick in the 2019 NBA draft, provided that he is available.

Sources say that members of their front office has been vocal about selecting Morant.

Current Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley has 2 years remaining on his 5-year, $140 million contract.

"provided that he is available"

They're going to be pissed if the Pelicans take him and they're stuck holding Zion.
At the end of the day, it's not about wins and losses. Teamwork, fair play, and good sportsmanship make champions of us all.

Go arbitrary assortment of athletes! Beat the other arbitrary assortment of athletes or my mood will suffer!

LOL, doubt they'd be "pissed" if Zion fell into their lap!

RJ has the skill set and athleticism to be a top wing in the league. It's going to come down to decision making. At Duke he wasn't good at picking his spots, if he can attack more intelligently at the NBA level he can be a game changer. If not he will be an inefficient chucker.

Morant will be better than RJ. Morant is the full package. RJ doesn't have the explosiveness to be great in the NBA. He will need to be a great 3pt shooter to have an impact.

Zion hasn't signed with an agent yet, so there's the possibility that he can decide to go back to Duke and declare for the draft next year.

Why would anybody that is going to be picked #1, 2 at worst, go back to school and risk a career ending injury?

Oh I agree with you, I would absolutely get paid and be glad on any team willing to draft me, but people don't always make the best decisions for themselves.

Just weird that he hasn't signed with an agent especially with a name as big as LBJ when he was getting ready to get drafted. You'd want someone in your corner that knows the situation and gives you sound advice.
