Doris Burke sees what is happening in the game and then communicates it to fans who probably don't understand completely what is going on in front of them. She asks legitimate questions in interviews. Doris knows what she's talking about and you can learn more about basketball listening to her in games.

She is overly dramatic and pompous for her line of work. Extremely irritating delivery.

She deserves respect as a NBA analyst obviously, but I just don't enjoy her commentary.

I never found her pompous, but quite booring. I'd still take her over Reggie Miller or Mark Jackson.

I'd leave my wife for Doris. She is my soul mate. Intelligent, incredibly beautiful and she has handles too. She is the perfect woman.

Legit laughed out loud at this indignance over a group of heterosexual men discussing an attractive* woman and her looks coming up.

Doris definitely knows her game, and her commentary is mostly on point, except when it has too many facts all packed in together. That's one thing I'd say about DB is that it's almost like she keeps trying to prove herself with all the info she packs. There are moments when the commentary is so constant that it gets in the way of the actual game (also it sounds like the mic is too close to her or something, but if that's just how she sounds like, no big deal).

She does get cozy on those sideline interviews as some have pointed out, and I've noticed some coaches sort of back their head away in those moments. Awkward. I think if a male reporter got that close to a female player it might stand out more, and it's different when a player leans in to hear a question. There ought to be some professional distance, yes? Also, the flip side to that is my absolute loathing of players kissing or blatantly flirting with female sideline reporters. That's not why they're there. Yikes so inappropriate.

I don't like it in general when women NBA commentators throw in slang that sounds like trying too hard to fit it: Rachel during the draft lottery - "Totes!"; Doris often enough - "That's what I'm talkin' 'bout!" Rachel seems quite comfortable in her skin and she has a good rapport with whomever she is paired (although last night there were some awkward moments - that's live tv for you).

I guess these are relatively minor points when you consider some of the drivel coming out of somehow still working male counterparts - we know who they are. That said, JVG is hilarious and blunt and throws insults at Jackson so it's always funny, and Hubie is the GOAT. Love him for his knowledge and his style.

Doris definitely belongs; she knows what she's talking about and has worked hard to get to this point. I've long maintained that her vast knowledge and deeper questions than sidelines give room for answering would be well suited for a one-on-one interview type of basketball show, maybe specials and the like.

I normally like her, except for her unhealthy infatuation with Kawhi‘s hand size.
