if you were told the grizz would get the #3 pick prior to the lotto would you have taken it? i'd probably say no

Congrats Memphis.
As a Suns fan it hurts seeing Ja slip away from us, but you guys really deserved some good luck coming your way.

Perhaps we can help you guys out? We just happen to have a 30ish high caliber, high quality individual that we are willing to let you guys have for say - #6 pick, TJ Warren & the newly acquired Tyler Johnson. (Bleacher Report suggestion)

Hopefully Memphis has some very smart people looking into both prospects to make the decision. I didn't realize Ja was a sophomore until late last night. RJ's shooting numbers worry me so I still give the edge to Ja but it isn't as much of a gap as I had first thought.

RJ is rough around the edges, but I think has the tools and workethic to get there, a ton depends on mentality, he is a worker by all accounts but might want to stay true to his game, and I am not sure he has the requisited skill to be who he think he is

Haven't said that, against Ja's competition, RJ would have put 30-35ppg

Congrats guys!! I really loved your Grit n Grind teams and it's nice to see you get a lift-me-up.

I guess the most obvious scenario (not necessarily best, just most obvious) is to draft Ja and then trade Mike and get a some nice assets to help rebuild. It seems like that could work out well for both your team and for Mike.

You should pick RJ. he was the alpha on Duke w Zion. He loves the game enough that he'll improve his shooting. I promise!!!

If RJ was in his 2nd year at Murry he'd be averaging 40, 10 and 6. The stars like Dame, CJ and Curry who came from small schools all were great shooters. That's not Ja...everyone is a good athelte in the NBA

Not happy for my team but happy for yours.

Morant is going to bring joy for a decade or more.

Happy for you.

I think the Memphis pick not conveying helps Boston. You have a decent shot at 7-10 in what is hopefully a stronger draft instead of 9 in this weaker one. It also helps stagger the incoming rookies for you are NOP if you do the AD trade.

If you are the Celtics, you hope to miss on our 2020 pick too. Having scouted the talent there, the elite level players are no where close to 2019 or 2021, which will be a dynamite class.

Didn't several players reclassify like 5 star recruit Hampton from 2021 - 20?.

1 reclassified recently- Hampton. It makes sense considering how mediocre this class is.

Edwards is another 5 star prospect who reclassified to Georgia & is projected to go #1.

Memphis pick is top 6 protected. (Wiseman, Edwards, Hampton, Stewart, Meldon, Anthony). Is a good group of talent. If you're Memphis, you hope you don't miss out. Good spot to be for keeping or conveying.

If Memphis do draft JA, they need to trade Conley & let the young players determine whether or not the pick is conveyed. Worse case Ja & or 3J disappoints, they net another top 6 talent where there is some 5 star recruits available & convey 2021 or the young players prove themselves & convey to keep the 2021 pick. Personally I think I'd rather pick top 6 next year than have to endure 4 losing seasons. Potentially end up with a core group of Ja, Edwards & 3J.

To be fair, I am aware of Edwards, though he is one of the few I haven't seen in high school action. I knew he was in the 2019 class, but didn't know he reclassified.

So I'll break down exactly what I mean: at the top we have Edwards, Wiseman, Hampton, Stewart, Manion, Anthony. Manion, Anthony, and Hampton will all function as point guards, so we probably aren't in the market for them alongside Ja. Can't speak too much on Edwards, as I haven't seen him, but let's assume he goes #1. The next best wing prospect most likely is Scotty Lewis, who I love, but who needs at least two years of school to refine his jumper.

The other top guys are energy bigs with a high motor and NBA athleticism in Precious and Stewart. Wiseman is great and can stretch the floor, but isn't he very reminiscent of JJJ? Point being, barring some significant legacy college improvements, I think this is a big time down year, particularly for wing scorers. I like Antoine, but don't think he's a one and done.

Maybe not Meldon & Anthony but Hampton is 6'5" with a 6'7" wing span & is a very good 3pt shooter. Memphis could run him off ball as a secondary ball handler to Ja. I would have Ja as the primary ball handler becuase he has better court vision, passing ability & is less engaged off ball but It would be a boon for Memphis to be able to run 2 PG's who can handle the ball at the same time without giving up a size advantage. Raptors used to close games with 2 undersized PG's Fred, Lowry to move DeRozan to SF to have another shot creator/shooter on court. Memphis could potentially convert Hampton to a full time SG with PG creating skills. Hampton is more of a scoring guard than facilitator anyway & he can light it up.

With Edwards & Lewis in the mix, Memphis IMO would have 3 potential targets top 6.
