I'm a little surprised that it's not even being considered as an option. My guess is that Memphis has set his price too high and with the money he's already being paid, it probably wasn't going to make sense.

Not that surprising though, that’d be a lot of money and resources to use on a short-term solution for a team that didn’t win 20 games last year. It’ll be interesting to see how they plan on addressing the point guard spot this offseason.

Yeah, you, me and everyone else

I get that prioritizing a younger player for the longer term would be the smarter play but I'm just not sure who we target. Could they REALLY go for a rookie PG now that we've slid past the unanimous #1 PG in the draft?

Not surprised about Conley's news, he is too old if James Jones are serious about getting players that are in his prime.

Talking about our PG position...We are probably set at getting for sure one in the draft at #6 (White or Garland) and this is it.

With Tyler Johnson, #6 and one from Okobo/Melton/Fredette we probably are ready to go. But we need to nail the pick.

But how much would we actually be willing to give up in a trade, in order to get beal?

On the trade board, it's been mentioned that they expect to at least get a package comparable to 2 high ( potential lottery picks), a young prospect with talent ( They're keen on Bridges apparently) and cap space?( Johnson) ???

1- Would a package of: Johnson's expiring/ Bridges/ a Phoenix 2021 top 5 protected/ Phoenix 2023 top 5 protected / Be fair value????

2- a package of Jackson/ Johnson's expiring/ the 6th pick/ The Milwaukee pick/ a 2021 top 5 protected. Would that be enough possibly?

Would that be too much?..........Not enough for an improving 3 time all star?

What is the best and most realistic package that we should consider?

I just like the fantasy of having Beal on the team. I don't think there is a realistic package because I don't think the Wizards are looking to trade Beal which means it would take an unrealistic, overpaying packaging to get them to consider a deal.

If you can get for either of the packages you've mentioned, you do it. I just don't think neither is enough because I don't think they have the desire to make any moves

Gambo usually doesn't sound this smart, so at least what he is saying makes sense....so he probably is getting some kind of info.

So then, Given that nugget of insider information from Gambo, Who would you say best fits that description in free agency with respect to our modest 9-10 million in cap space? :dontknow:

I sure wouldn't bank on one of those in the draft as your future starter. I really hope we end up with someone better, but I'm not sure who it could be either.

Wish we could find some under the radar guy and watch him blossom, kind of like the Nets did with Dinwiddie. I kind of hope we utilize our pick with something else and address PG more with a vet and nab a PG next year in the draft if we still need a young one since there will be 3-4 guys who are likely better than either of those guys.

Ntilikina could be an interesting redraft / under the radar candidate. On paper he always seemed like a good fit next to Booker but his shot hasn't come around. He should be available pretty cheap. But our rumored interest in him was under McD so who knows if we still like him at all.

Melton is already better than Ntilikina and paid half as much. I’ve never bought into him being a legit prospect.

I liked French Frank coming into the draft but he's like Josh Jackson bad on O.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Unless a miraculous trade opportunity comes up, best option is Point Book.

This is true. What relationship do Jones or Bowers have with Gambo.

TBH I think we are/were just as bad (considering the whole Suns Mediocre Era) but we just don't get talked about nearly as much as this one LA offseason because we're not in LA.
