Heavy stuff. Rest in peace, Mags. :(

I wasn't that close with him but it's weird: I remember that he was one of the first (and only) posters here whose name got stuck in my head. I even remember randomly saying it aloud a few times. It's a small thing but it always stuck with me.

Cheers to his collective impact on the world, here with us and with his loved ones.

Cheers to his journey through the memories and banners of his life, passing through his infinite Garden, draining 3s on the maple floor of our basketball void to divine applause--endless.

Rest in peace TommyUdo6.

I was trying to find the right words before posting in this thread. This forum is one of my “happy places” in a pretty messed up world and one of us is no longer breathing. That’s real.

Honestly, I know we all get annoyed with one another a lot here on these boards. I’ve had my share of crazy/jerk moments and we all have here. At the end of the day, we all come back. I may never meet Howard Mass, HartfordWhalers, Texas Chuck, etc. on and on or any of you honestly, but you have all helped me through my high moment, low moments and everything in between by the simplicity of sports and this forum. Being a member of the Knicks forum as well, Magnumt was one of these strangers I knew. I think this is a good time for us all to appreciate each other rather than viciously debate over fun topics like sports and thank one another for creating this community. May you rest in piece.

Wow, just noticed this for the last time. Have interacted with Mags a number of times. It's truly sad when you realize that will never happen again, and you'll never see another Magnumt post.

The internet's scary that way. You half know so many people that you've never truly met, and then one day they just wink out and are gone. R.I.P.

This site is the only website that I have been reliably visiting almost every day of my life for the past 18 years. Mags played a big role in maintaining that experience. For that I say thanks. He will be missed.

Man. RIP. I remember him from way back in the day, back when I was on this forum for hours a day. I remember many debates with him back when the Bulls and Knicks were both mediocre to bad, but we always argued which one of us were more mediocre to bad.

There are so many reasons to be a basketball fan.
We get to know the game (better).
We get to know the best moments in basketball history.
But most important, we get to know each other.
We get to talk about what we love, alongside board members who become friends.
Who become family.

So this is to you, Mags.
You may be gone, but never forgotten.
RIP

Seemed like a good dude. I enjoyed his posts ending with the beer emoji.

RIP Mags
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

Just now seeing this. I’ve been a bit away from here last few months. Very sad news. Didn’t know him personally but I know he had a big impact here and will truly be missed. Rest In Peace friend!
