Depending on a trade request, would it even take that much?

I think 4 for Beal may be almost it (4 + Hart). I think the Wizards still have cap problems as well.

Well considering that according to reports the Wizards were asking for 2 players and 2 draft picks, this seems about right. I’m sure we could talk them down from their rumoured asking price but a trade for Beal is moving one of Ingram or Ball. They’d also need to be included for salary purposes. I’ve done the math and any trade for Beal or Anthony Davis would have to send out around 20 million in salary, and the number goes down depending on what we have left after free agent signings. Although I could see Beal for 4 considering that the Wizards will never get a pick that high from any other team.

LAL starts off season by signing Jimmy Butler. KD and Kyrie head to NY. Kawhi goes to LAC or even stays in TOR. Is value off on this?

Lakers out: BI, #4, Lonzo, Kuzma, 2021 1st, 2025 pick swap top 2 protected
Lakers In: AD, Huerter
Why: Bring in AD to make a big 3, get a good young shooter who fits

Pels out: AD
Pels in: BI, 4th pick, 8th pick, Lal 2021 1st, 2023 1st, 2025 pick swap top 2 protected
Why: Getting a guy in BI who has star potential and Griffin likes him, two lottery picks, 2 future 1sts, pick swap just to sweeten it

Suns out: 6th pick
Suns in: Lonzo
Why: Getting their pg of the future. Plays very good defense, doesn't have to have ball in hands so this benefits Booker.

Hawks out: Huerter, 8th pick
Hawks in: 6th pick, Kuzma
Why: They can move to 6th pick to get a nice defensive guard or wing in Hunter or Culver. Collins and Kuzma is a nice 5/4 duo to close games out.

How is value for all teams? Who should get more/less? I feel like Pels maybe can get a guy like Hart/Wagner.

I think you trade Ingram and 4 for Beal. They don't need Ball with Wall and Ingram will need to be paid next summer so moving him solves that. Ball and Kuzma are cheap longer so I'd move them last unless something really good comes along.

Summertime 2019...Trade Ideas

Post#1947 » by tv24lakers » Sun May 26, 2019 1:57 am

I skimmed teams in the league that would seemingly have an interest in BI; in other words those lacking or potentially losing a talented SF. The survey brought me to 11 teams; excluding Toronto or Golden State where elite SFs may depart.

Taking an assessment of their assets, I have whittled it down to 3 teams holding a talent or two of intrigue. We have the Spurs, Wizards, and Indiana with the following candidates:
• DeRozan [Spurs] – who as I understand are open to trading DeMar
• Beal [Wizards] – a premiere SG, the Wizards assuredly will have some contending offers.
• Oladipo [Indiana] – even w/ the recent setback I question if Indiana would truly be willing to let Oladipo go w/o something BIG in return, for example a combo of BI, #4, and possibly Zo or Kuz….too rich for my blood.

Okay, so I’m left w/ DeRozan and Beal, both very talented. DeRozan lacks an outside game which puts him behind Beal for me. While I’m not wild about DeRozan I feel he is still a remarkable talent that would take some pressure off Lebron.

Let me know your thoughts on other talents that maybe worth going after in the trade game.

Wouldn't touch Derozan with a ten foot pole and wouldn't deal with the Spurs in a hurry.

Beal i think would be option #2 if the A.D deal is off completely (and assuming we strike out in F.A entirely).

I doubt we could get Dipo and Indiana are probably not dealing with us.

I agree Dipo is probably “untradeable” for Indiana unless you’re coming in with a player of his caliber or better. We don’t qualify.

The AD trade scenario is a lost cause. I’m struggling to see NO willing to trade him with the prospect of teaming him with Zion. NO can afford to wait until mid season if that experiment doesn’t pan out. The Lakers should not take that gamble.

I see Beal as our #1 trade target and DeRozan as #2. With DeRozan I would hope to get back a future pick or two. If he doesn’t fit, perhaps he gets shipped to NO.

I've changed my stance on the future.

Lakers sign Kyrie remains.
Lakers select Culver at #4.

3 way trade follows.

Lakers trade: Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, Moritz Wagner, 2020 1st
Lakers get: Anthony Davis, #38 pick

Bulls trade: #7 pick, #38 pick, Kris Dunn
Bulls get: Lonzo Ball

Pelicans trade: Anthony Davis
Pelicans get: Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, Kris Dunn, Moritz Wagner, #7 pick, 2020 1st from Lakers

Obv. the picks are pre-arranged between the teams, since the trade will go down after July 1st when we sign Irving.
Lakers get Talen Horton Tucker at #38.

Lakers sign Jordan Bell to the room exception/MLE. Warriors don't match.
Lakers sign Trevor Ariza for the minimum.
Lakers sign Robin Lopez for the minimum.
Lakers sign Ish Smith for the minimum.
Lakers sign JaMychael Green for the minimum.
Lakers sign Wayne Ellington for the minimum

Team entering the season:

Kyrie Irving/Alex Caruso/Ish Smith/Isaac Bonga
Jarrett Culver/Talen Horton-Tucker/Wayne Ellington
Lebron James/Trevor Ariza
Kyle Kuzma/JaMychael Green
Anthony Davis/Jordan Bell/Robin Lopez

[quote="ROballer"][/quote]

AD trade scenario from NOP management point of view...

1. AD has voiced interest in a trade. There is a possibility he’s gone next summer w/ nothing to show for it.
2. AD is a super-max talent. Realistically a comparable player is not coming in return. Trade packages may amass to something outwardly more rewarding, but it’s a 1:Many proposition, leading to more players and salaries to manage.
3. #1 pick in hand, bringing Zion into the fold.

Will a future with Zion give AD some pause and cause to reconsider leaving. If yes, let’s reevaluate after the season begins. We will re-examine the trade possibilities when we cross that bridge.

So, while I can appreciate that strength of trade stock comparatively to that of next season. A number of teams will assuredly come with offers to give up players and picks next season.

This is all to say an AD 2019 trade summer went out the window when the #1 pick fell in NO’s lap.

While I may share an appreciation for Adebayo’s abilities, this is a questionable trade on multiple levels.

First, the exchange of salaries are wildly out of balance. Second, we can assuredly get more value for #4 pick than Adebayo.

The salary of pick 4 is $7m I believe.

Why would that matter until you make the pick?

I'm not exactly sure if it counts, can you make a trade official before the draft? When do trades reopen?

Not a fan of either team but was curious what Laker fans thought of this deal?

Lebron/#4 for #1 (Zion)/Salary filler

The Lakers get their franchise cornerstone for the next 10 years and the Pelicans do their best to convince AD to stay.

It's a cap hold until you sign him.
