As I thought, Queta is going back to Utah State.
Fortunately it seems Portuguese people are taking it pretty well. Hope the big guy gets a lot of national support next year. Really excited to see what he can do!

Re: 2019 Draft Class
Interesting stat brought up on twitter - Herro shot 39% from jumpers in half-court, 13-48 when contested. He's going to struggle against length in the NBA. (credit @advancedstats23 for that tidbit). Needs to be able to shoot of movement well, big question mark. Might end up dropping him on my board a bit for that one.

In his case, it's probably more that there's no reason to bump up players who shoot the lights out in an empty gym and your opinion of them should be in line with what they showed during the season.

Re: 2019 Draft Class
Claxton built up an insane amount of momentum. Probably started as non top 100 guy to probable late 1st rounder. He's the answer to Hayes being a top 10 big.
No dominant bigs, just a bunch of guys in the same tier. I hate that the Hawks have two picks where Hayes will be a prime option .

Re: 2019 Draft Class
I'm trying to work out why such a mediocre ceiling is being placed on Deandre Hunter.
He scored 19pp/40 on one of the slowest paced teams in basketball, on 62% TS, hes functionally a pretty good athlete, he can pull up OTD, he has a mid-post creation game, solid feel/makes the right passes, can handle decently, gets to the line at a solid rate. Obviously a talented defender. Low stl/blks scare me a little bit but Virginia play a conservative scheme.
What's the catch? I get he's not a flashy player and he's on the older side, but from everything I can tell, he was a strong scorer in college at all 3 levels. He can only stand to up the 3 point volume, which seems inevitable given the super efficient % on a medium volume, and he the tools to further develop his on-ball game.
Even guys that like him in this draft are calling him a plug and play Hawks - Demarre Carroll type, which seems like a major undersell.

Re: 2019 Draft Class
Hunter is the best pro prospect that Tony Bennett has coached by far. And there are some good Virginia role players in the league. So that being said, the fact that they are only role players (some might argue Brogdon is more, but I won't), may give some people pause. I think defensively he will do well, but his offensive game seems very mechanical especially when handling the ball. But he should help a team win games and that is valuable.

I think you pretty much answered your own question: people who just look at volume stats drastically underrate him for playing on one of the slowest-paced teams in the country. On defense, he's going to be able to guard 1-4 regardless of his steals/blocks, and obviously that has a lot of value on its own.

I totally get the rigidity - that's the immediate thing that pops out to me offensively. He looks a bit upright and cumbersome, from his off the dribble movements to his jumper. Yet defensively he's considered a guy with exceptional feet and movement for a guy his size that can defend 2-4, so I wonder whether his potential fluidity offensively might be underrated.
I don't want to make the hyperbolic comparison, but I feel like Kawhi has some parallel's as a prospect. He is fairly cerebral and stiff but he has size, long strides and a great fundamental skill level. So I think in the same vein we may underrate his potential a bit.

meh, is that supposed to be bad at the collegiate level? what's the average for starting freshmen guards in the SEC?

agreed here, Hunter's ceiling isn't as low as people think. there's a lot of room for improvement in his scoring repertoire and help defense on the other side that should him to continuously get better well into his first contract.

What do you think of his defense? Some are coming around and saying he's overrated on that end now. As I said before, wish the stocks were higher, but other than that I think he's pretty legit on that end. Obviously has some off-ball improvements to make as you said but nothing too concerning I think.
