I was thinking to myself I need to enjoy the next few weeks because it could end up being the best I'll feel about this franchise for a while. The jones/Monty regime seems to have their head on straight with good vibes BUT they could make some moves over the next month that absolutely submarine my opinion of them and that would be depressing since they will probably be here for a while. So might as well enjoy this period of hope of the unknown while it lasts lol.

Seems like every summer is filled with that hope. Last summer we had the #1 pick and more cap space. I feel pretty good about Jones and good about Monty though. And we are older with experience. But yeah, I'm used to us screwing it up so it's scary too.
Yeah last summer definitely had some hope but by then I had already lost all faith in McD making good decisions so that hung over it. Plus I was a Doncic guy and kind of knew they wouldn't take him. This draft will be hard for me really be bummed, I don't really care for anyone enough that I'll be mad if they pass on them. Unless they do something way outside the box like take Rui at 6 I'm pretty much fine with anyone in that range. It's July that scares me a little, some paths they could go are icky and would lead me to believe this regime is going to bring only more stupidity and suffering.

Not surprising as Utah needs to upgrade on O. Curious how his market looks because non shooting PGs aren't exactly a hot commodity. Not my favorite target but something short and cheap I guess maybe.

He is one of the worst starting PGs in the league, he would be perfect as a backup PG on a contender.

We need shooting badly, I would pass.

If Nets will sign Kyrie and resign Russell would you trade #6 for Dinwiddie?

Possibly, but his contract is pretty darn good. Not sure the Nets would have or want to trade him

We also need defense and someone to feed Book and Ayton. Rubio does both these things quite well and he would mentor our young PGs. I'd consider him but I guess Tyler would have to go.

I hear you, but a PG as bad as he is shooting the ball would allow defenses to concentrate on Book and Ayton. It is the other way.

That is why the Jazz don't want him anymore...even at his prime and with Bird Rights.

Yeah he's far from my top or even second choice. But if it was a 1 or 2 year deal for like 7-8 mil per then it could make some sense.

Hard pass on Rubio unless it’s a last resort option on a short deal. We’d be in the same position as every other team who has Rubio - trying to trade him for an upgrade because he isn’t very good.

I’m still keeping the D’Lo dream alive

Kleber or Mirotic

Kleber or Mirotic easily. In terms of talented (young) players who you want the ball in their hands, I think we already have enough to not need another big man shot creator in Randle.

I would sign both Looney and Manimal. Let Holmes walk, start Manimal at the 4 because Ayton needs a dog next to him especially on defense.Let Kelly or TJ play the 4 off the bench

We also have enough non-shooters on this team.

Every year there is 1 or 2 avg role players in the CF/Finals that look A LOT better than they are due to the situations they are in(coaching/superstars they play with) and that leads to teams being duped and overpaying for these players. FVV is one of those players this year and we need to steer away from him.

We need to keep Ayton impactful offensively while his defense comes along and that can't happen if you stick another guy next to him that's going to clog the lane

TJ and 6 for dinwiddie and 18 could make some sense for both teams.

I think that's an overpay, and also defeats the some of the purpose of the Nets dealing Dinwiddie, which would be to reduce committed salary. I think Brooklyn would be much happier dealing Dinwiddie into a situation where they take no or minimal money back.

Dinwiddie has a valuable contract though. I don't see the Nets just dumping Dinwiddie to give salary relief, but I could see them trading him for an equally valuable contract such as TJ Warren. It rids the Nets (and Suns) of redundancy on the roster.

Despite some reports that the Nets would like to pair D'Lo with Kyrie, I still think their best option is to pair Irving with Durant. I've mentioned before, but I think that report is to save face in case the Nets completely miss on free agency and just keep D'Lo around.

I do agree that TJ/#6 for Dinwiddie#18 is definitely an overpay.
