I would say 6, tj and tj is too much for Jrue. Especially since he doesn’t really want to be there or play pg. 6 for Conley or Paul might be ok if we were contending but we’re not. That would be a waste. If we could send warren, the bucks pick for Paul or Conley that’s a deal. There’s not many good point guards in the nba. There are a lot of backup PGs disguised as starters. Reggie Jackson is the main one. He’s a backup pg and we should not trade anything for him. He’d be like Bledsoe who did nothing to elevate his team.

She's certainly not lacking for confidence in herself. Now if you want to play detective one could see this as the suns actually wanting to trade for one of the guys Gambo is saying they don't want. Both Paul and Conley would basically match the salary of what she's throwing out there...

This offseason is kind of frightening honestly.

My thing with both Nevel and Gambo - and maybe I should give her more credit but its the same philosophy as Gambo - how do they have the "street cred" yet with Jones, Bower and Bukstein. It takes a long time for a reporter to develop the trust and confidence that Will McDonough had, Shefter has today, Gammons and Rosenthal have and for the NBA, Woj and Shams. I just don't see Jones as the type to be sharing stuff with people who would share it with Ashley Nevel or John Gambadorro.

Paul Coro was the ultimate beat reporter. He never shared trade innuendo or gossip unless it was too totally categorically deny something. But by keeping a lot of information in house, the Front Office could trust him not to blab and than after he could share the details.

Paul makes no sense because of the 124 left
Conley might make some sense
either player, not giving up the 6 as taking those contracts should be the VALUE to either Memphis or Houston. I don't want Paul either way.

I have a feeling Gambo is being fed stuff so the Suns can track these rumors on their terms

Ashley Nevel - maybe hearing some stuff and making educated guesses.

I'm guessing Ashley Nevel is hungry and is cutting some corners to build reputation as an insider fast, and then get hired by a bigger vehicle (typical ESPN material, I'd argue) and go cover some other team leaving her bridges with the Suns burned.

Fact is she has been right two times, wrong zero times, in her time covering the Suns so far.

Bold, and most likely short lived.

I assume you'd rather have Conley than Paul? They could also be open to Ball which he denied...but it wouldn't fit with her second tweet.

I like Conley more myself but I don't see how the 6th pick makes sense for Conley. Maybe the Bucks pick next year.

She got Igor and Monty correct - so yes, two for two

See if she is correct with this PG type trade.

Well trades take two to tango. She could be correct that they want to do it even if it never comes to fruition.

While I'm not saying she doesn't have some sources (I'm sure she's talking to players and has some feel for what going on). Nothing she's predicted so far has been exactly out of left field. Kind of some educated guesses for the most part.

We shoud not foget that we have 4 PGs in the roster right now: Melton, Okobo, Johnson and Daniels. At least two of the four deserve to stay here, because they can be good players in a couple of years. Melton is a good player that needs to develop his shooting, although I am not too convinced about his capabilities to be a real PG. Okobo could end up being that guy.

I believe we have a fair roster with not bad contracts at all.
We are getting rid of 45 millions in payments, but Booker's contract comes into action from 3 to 27.

What I would do:

I would not get rid of any of the forwards. We need Oubre, Warren and Jackson. We need to sign a good PF.
In the draft, just sign the best player available, regardless of position. He would probably be a SF, so perhaps we could include JJ in a trade.

My option for PG in a trade would be either RR for a one or two year contract (if possible), or Rozier, who could demand 12-14 million. Above that, of course, no.
They are players who do not get injured much and can offer some growing. Especially, Rozier. He is not a good decision maker and does not shoot great, but we need somebody whose age is aligned with the average age of this roster.

Rozier
Booker
Oubre
Green
Ayton
------------------
Johnson
JJ
Warren
Holmes
--------------
Okobo
Bridges
Melton

I believe that's a very good roster and we would be saying goodbye to Johnson's 19 million in a year, just the time to decide what to do also with Melton. With that money next summer we can go after a very decent FA.

Would kind of depend on what salary is headed back from Phoenix. I like Winslow so I don't think it's too bad of a framework personally.

Q1: Which veteran point guard will help this team?
Q2: Why not just draft a point guard with our pick?
Q3: Why aren't we going after Brogdon or Russell?

1) plenty of them
2) they might do both, none of the guys they could draft should start right away
3) they might, but currently don't have the space to make an offer and even if they do those guys are RFAs so their teams can match

Do you think we are clearing cap space? Oubre?

There are ways to do it and keep Oubre like stretching Johnson, or trading any combination of Jackson, Johnson, Warren to a cap space team. It really depends who they lock up in FA. To me no reason to clear space without a commitment from a clear FA upgrade. It's tricky with RFAs because it seems silly to clear space then have the other team match then you're scrambling to spend on back up plans.

IF Brooklyn lands two max guys they will need to renounce DLo to fit those guys under the cap making him a UFA. If that happens and he agrees to come to Phoenix I think they will do what ever nessesary to fit his contract in. But that's a big IF.
