Pretty sure Klay and Durant are done for the series.

I think GSW held Klay out because they feel like KD might not be back. Why else would you basically forfeit an NBA Finals game? If Klay re-aggravates his injury, the series is over.

But if they know KD is coming back, you can risk Klay. You can at least give him 15-20 minutes and try to avoid forfeiting the game...

Would be shocked as well. Boy, it has been a fun ride as a Raps fan so far.

He tore his achilles.

How would KD be walking around though if he tore his achilles? Wouldn't he be much less mobile? I think he plays game 4 or 5.

You can walk on a torn achilles. KD not participating in any basketball-related activity, at all, fuels the point that the injury is more severe than what's being led on.

He wouldn't be able to push off when he walks, im pretty sure I saw him walking pretty well after game 2....

I don't think he tore his achilles but I do think he strained it.

Is that too late in the series to be throwing a guy out there who hasn't played for over a month? If Klay is still out yes obviously because you need the offensive firepower, but I don't know, seems like a tough decision.

Even if Klay is in, it's not as if the Dubs have offensive powerhouses waiting in the wings. As long as KD plays within the offense he'll be a major difference maker.

Updated series odds, after that convincing Game 3 victory for the Raptors:

Golden State (+100) vs. Toronto (-120)

Warriors at even money if they win it.

No, I didn't see any scenario that would make sense to risk Klay tonight. There is only one day off between games 3 and 4; the rest of the series all has two days off. So if Klay tweaks anything tonight, it would be highly unlikely he would recover by Friday. Playing him tonight would not make sense.

honestly, I think they punted this game hoping to get Klay back healthier in G4...thought process was probably 'hey, let's just see what Steph can do and maybe the other guys can hit some open 3s and see if we can steal a game'...didn't work out but I think they're fine with the result as long as Klay comes back next game

Pretty risky plan, no? Now the Raptors are up a game in a series in which they have home court.

Poor Warriors.

Having an MVP caliber player who is the greatest shooter ever, a defensive player of the year, an all-star big-man and a former finals MVP isn't enough.

I feel awful for them.

Many of these players are old(er) now. You can't expect a team to contend for a title with only 1 of the 3 best players in the NBA. You gotta have at least 2.
