They still have 27 this year and had a first last year as well.

I don’t think this is about Stepien

you're right. they have denver's pick. so it's not that.

I don’t think it matters that they have Denver’s pick the rule is you can’t trade your own

I’ll double check but I thought it’s about having a first at all

God Damnit kemba is like the bootleg version of kyrie. Kyrie and Durant is like a cheat code that should get you to the finals every year. and with the warriors getting old and breaking down you probably win with that duo when you factor in Mitch's progression into an all time great defensive big.

Kemba and Durant, is that even better than siakam and kawhi? Maybe it is or maybe not.

So they’re 6 mil shy of the KD Kyrie max combo.
Dumping Joe Harris does that.

They’re good for two 7-9 maxes though

It would be nice if people could actually read the known salaries instead of quoting bull twitter artists.

It's really not very hard to figure out the Nyets cap - there are a bunch of resources on the net - basketball-insiders, basketball-reference, and many other (espn, .. ) w/e. I'm going to use sportrac: https://www.spotrac.com/nba/brooklyn-nets/cap/2019/

You'll see that Shabb and Trev have non-guaranteed contracts if renounced by 10 July. So, doing that immediately nets the Nyets $1,696,342 in salary cap.

Their "$66m" in 'effective salary cap' is in fact: $66,975,950. So, sticking these together the Nets have $68,672,292 in cap space. The KD+KI combo is $70,850,000. So that leaves them a little less than $2.2m shy of a Kd-Kyrie combo.

It's actually not so hard to dump the remaining salary. Look on https://www.spotrac.com/nba/brooklyn-nets/cap/2019/ to see the options

If we get Kawhi and draft well at #3, we win the offseason

Let Kyrie and KD team up in BK, who cares

Apologies for not taking >$6m = $2.2m ... but yeah, those later tweets are closely/approximately inline with the exact numbers (as far as I understand them)

But the point is that >$6m is quite a lot of salary to abandon when you have a small pay-roll, whereas $2.2m is actually pretty doable.

AD is going to LA...the league gave NO- Zion and put Griffin in NO to ensure Lebron gets AD...And I'm hoping it happens
so Mitch stays where he belongs...

Here's a clickbait article from Forbes: https://www.sportscasting.com/nba/underrated-players-nba-2019/

Top 10 underrated players in the league this year. Nah, yeah, the stats they use are biased towards bigs. But, still, read the list.

(Overpaid players list is also fun.) I guess the Knicks have to do it. But it doesn't feel good.

I envy Russel 21M Cap Hold. It is a good value for him before capping out. He is younger (23) healthier and less crazy than Irving. I dont think is a good deal let him go.

do we include Lance Thomas's non-guaranteed $7.5m in our calculations of salary caps for the Knicks? Of course not.

Let Kyrie go to the Nets

We should have zero interest in him anyway

I'm pretty certain KD is gonna stay in GS at this rate though

Return to New York Knicks
