This post probably won't come off well, but anyways-
Yes, they take risks but also have huge rewards. Risking their health to a degree is why athletes get paid so much.
For 31 million dollars I would be overjoyed to let someone slash my achilles. Yea it's worse for KD since he likes playing basketball a lot more than I do. But I don't think this is some sort of moral horror story.

If the Warriors medical staff knew it was a damaged achilles and passed it off as a damaged calf, that front office needs to be heavily dealt with by the NBA. If the medical team were negligent and misdiagnosed they all need to be banned from practicing in the NBA.

Why was KD this entire time in all the videos always shown with ice packs on his ankles and not on his calf? Multiple videos showed packs wrapped around his achilles not the calf when he was in the arena.

There is something very strange going on about this whole situation, the medical staff and Kerr were not being honest with the public with this day to day he will be ready to play soon nonsense.

I've seen multiple threads and hundreds of posts how KD fakin it, dragging out this "minor" injury and trying to prove GSW can't win without him. All the disgusting media talking heads which their only jobs spewing rumors, jawing and casually drag people's names through the mud without self-reproach or shame and making millions over this moral perversion.

Also his teammates and front office did him dirty; first came into existence as Draymond's temper tantrum , "we don't need you" , then all corroborated it by keeping quiet in face off all the media cesspool, even some of them whispered to ears of their media buddies, anonymously/cowardly.

Now they're shedding crocodile tears...Media, Kerr, Myers, Curry... This once in a lifetime talent got robbed from advancing his legacy to named as the best player of his era by superseding LBJ and we fans deprived of witnessing at least 3 more years of his prime. Media, Fans, teammates, coaching staff, Warriors FO all collectively created the pressure to force him to play and it disgusted me.

Durants injury doesn't change the public questioning or criticism of him joining the GSW which was completely warranted. They are two separate issues.

Don't blame the rest of us. I can tell you for a fact if Durant played on the Nets he would have never been cleared to play.

How can you know that?

Based on what I've seen from the last 2-3 years of Sean Marks' team and how they treat players with soft tissue injuries, they are hell bent against rushing players back from injury unless they are beyond 100%. Player safety and wellness is always a priority.

That's neither here nor there now though. I'm just going by how I'm seeing another team treated a player who was clearly unwell and thinking it was utter malpractice from the top down of that organization.

GSW set the narrative that KD is not hurt.
Tell us everyday that KD can come back next game like 2 weeks ago, tell us he will play game 4 or not is his own choice etc etc

All of that make him look selfish for not rushing back to play, manipulate and pressure him to play through injury.

PS. Kawhi makes the right choice to hold out from Spurs.

And the media ate it right up w/ their non stop talking about KD coming back since game 3. The obsession with star players and ratings is also to blame. NBA wanted him out there to create a narrative and look what happened. It’s honestly disgusting - very few people are innocent in this IMO. I haven’t turned on ESPN and those channels, but wondering if they are going to have the nerve to blame all kinds of people when they themselves are just as complicit?

I’d bet any amount of money that fake crying sociopath Myers played a part in feeding stories to reporters via their PR/media apparatus to stoke the misinformation and comeback narrative. I hope KD’s lawyers sue the org because discovery process will be lit.

Don’t forget Kerr overplaying against Houston, too many minutes, led to initial injury. Then overplayed him way too much, way too soon last night. Kerr also ran Curry into the ground game 3.

It will be push back from the same fans that create the market the media is feeding. Basically, parts of the problem - and there are lots of them.

Yup. Plus Looney and Cousins rushed back. Plus an owner assaulting Lowry. These Silicon Valley rich guys are bloodsucking parasites. I’m telling y’all it’s the culture there — dog eat dog, screw over and exploit anyone in your wake. KD needs to sue these people for a super max deal PLUS $250,000,000+ in lost wages and pain and suffering.

You know what's worse? Fools like Stephen A ranting and raving about how a KD at 50% is better than anyone on the Warriors bench. WTF does Stephen A know about these kinds of injuries. It sets up unrealistic expectations. See all the GS fans pumping the chests that KD gonna return and be like head when he was dropping 35 on the Rockets pre-injury. This is fueled by media and social media.

But you do realize these are actual human beings right? Not robots. Who are you to criticize Myers for getting emotional when you have no idea how their relationship is. Did you see Curry almost breakdown when talking to Burke? Sometimes I feel that fans see these guys not as real people, and it's weird.

Not only that, before the game it was reported that the Warriors would play KD in spurts. I think I read somewhere he played 12 out of the 14 minutes before he got injured...

Was he wrong Durant hurt for 12 minutes scored 11 points.

The issue is the GSW were LIKELY LYING about it only being a calf injury to the media which put on pressure for him to return. They also never ruled him out for the rest of the series had they done so the speculation on his return would have ended immediately.

How can you blame Stephen A, Stephen B, or whomever for speculating when the GSW left it all up in the air?

Leaving aside you literally don't "know for a fact" there is no reasonable comparison that can be drawn between the circumstances of these two organizations anyway.
