If he can’t, knowing Kyrie is 100% leaving, then there’s no point trading. At least we know for sure Kyrie is out so we can move on and figure out what the next plan is to attack.
If it lasts a few days. Word is that LA essentially has a deal in place.

The Kyrie trade backfired. I still believe that it was worth the gamble, it cost us a broken IT, a ticked off Crowder and Sexton. Its just frustrating that Kyrie is taking his cap space with him.

That's foolish. Disappointed in the fans here who don't want to take a chance with a top 5 player.

He leaves , we screwed. We don't get him, we screwed.

At least ONE scenario has a top 5 player.

I haven't heard that phrase in decades! Is it still used much?

There is zero reason to trade for Davis now. Let the rebuild begin.

If Ainge wasn't going to go for it and had no real promise to Kyrie to keep him until end of year, it sure seems like he should have traded him.

But what could he have gotten for a Kyrie as a half year rental.

I suspect mostly garbage.

Portland? No need for Kyrie with Lillard..
Houston? Not a good fit.
Warriors? No interest with Curry
Clippers? Makes some sense but probably just offering up scraps.
Bucks? Why trade him there if you think Kyrie is good
Toronto? Why trade him there if you think Kyrie is good
Philly? Why trade him there if you think Kyrie is good.

Lakers? Tough to see with Lebron dynamic....

It was obvious in like the middle of December Kyrie wasn't happy here. Anything they got would have been better than him walking away for nothing.

Irving is pretty much burning it to the ground right now on his way out in Ainge let it happen.

Gotta wonder .. it was said Celtics are all in on AD with or without Kyrie. If that's the case, why would we lessen the offer if we are all in regardless?

lmao i don't see how anyone thinks the Davis deal is dead. Again, all indications are that Ainge still believes he can get Kyrie back but wants AD regardless. AD is still gonna be a Celtic.

It's not dead. Our insiders, and previous reports have stated they are still after it with or without Kyrie

Your pessimism is sad to read.

Are you like this to cope with the worst possible outcome? It's like beyond just having negative opinions. Sorry man. Cheer up a bit..in general :)

Well I appreciate what the insiders offer I don't think Ainge would be stupid enough to rent Davis for a year.

Not convinced the Davis deal is "dead" yet but Ainge will be if he signs Rozier as our starting PG next season

Time to find a new GM if that's his plan B or C.

He'd be stupid not to.

If the goal is to win a title, how are we better off by keeping Tatum?
