That deal isn't getting AD to the Lakers. Boston's deal is arguably better even without Tatum and Id bet anything that Griffin would prefer to send AD to anyone but the Lakers, all things being equal. Either Boston needs to throw in Tatum or LA needs to flip the 4 pick for someone big

Curious who the Celtics will get to pair with AD if they go this route.

The discussion we'll have in the immediate aftermath of an AD acquisition is how do they build a *perennially* contending team around him in just one year?

I haven't heard that phrase in decades! Is it still used much?

Probably not.. I just know it from the Cheers episode

Its a good episode too, not as good as the episodes with McHale cameos though

Not that it helps anyone, but I will be so wild if the Lakers get AD cheap.

Hope the Knicks get in the mix. Idea:
3, 14, Hayward to NO
AD, Kyrie to NY
Two max TPEs to Boston

They also want to resign Rozier. Rozier is going to raise holy hell if he's forced to sit behind Conley.

Conley would be a good mentor for Rozier, and if Smart and Kyrie are gone and only Conley comes in, it means Rozier can get starter minutes as a back-up combo guard - 30-32 mpg for Conley, 30-32 for Brown or Tatum as the starting shooting guard leaves 30-32 for Terry to be scary

There is not a chance in hell Rozier accepts that. He wants to be "the man". This is a guy who called himself a top PG and thought he should be starting over Kyrie. Do you really think his ego will allow him to take a backseat to Mike Conley?

If Kyrie comes back, or we get DAR, and keep the MEM pick, with Rozier and Morris on the books, you could combine their salaries (both are still perennial age) with the Grizzlies' pick to get a "young star." Or you move Horford - with his consent - to a different contender - for Capela/Gordon or Steven Adams..

Yes? He said he doesn't want to come back if the team stays the same.. 30-32 minutes a game would be a career high for him, he'd have a major role as the third guard..

If Irving and Hayward were off the team and they keep Jaylen, I think he’d come back.

Unless he's getting the most touches on the team somehow I don't see it.

Rozier wants to be the starter, the star, the mentor himself.

Still rather have him as our starting PG over Rozier.

Well, the last time I heard it was before Cheers ran, so that tells me something. ;)
