But if you ask most people here, you should be only going for max superstars at each position, duh.

Some people here are either delusional or don't know basketball. It's not 3 stars and scrubs.

They also faced a team destroyed by injury. If the Warriors are healthy they win in 5.

If I even ignore that huge point just for sake of discussion then Toronto is still an outlier. Stars over depth has always won titles.

The Nba has always been about your few best players and then you hope you get contributions from a different role player throughout the playoffs because role players are always up and down

It's funny because Masai's experience gave him the wisdom to know that if he got Kawhi, Green and was able to add a gasol-
they would have the right balance of pieces to win a title...Lets not forget about the "this guy is 30 plus
he's done" narratives, etc...3 guys 31-33 in age...

Thats why I am so happy that we are not wasting the resources on one player in AD...

He was 85% and he chose not to go.

There was no talk of a risk of reinjury.

Then he left after going back a 2nd time to get a deal we wouldn’t match.

But let’s celebrate him. Yay.

PHI starting 5 in the playoffs

173 mins
113.4 ORTG
88.5 DRTG
24.9 NRTG

This is with Tobias Harris playing like Tobias Funke

alot of breaks have to go the right way for a team to win a title. the sixers series was tough for us b/c of their length and defense. it made us a better team. bucks and gsw couldn't pose the same physical imposing defense. embiid, imho, is the best defensive player in the league b/c he changes so much of what you want to do on offense. philly lost b/c simmons can't shoot and they don't have depth. bringing back that starting 5 will cost them alot of money and there's still no guarantee simmons will be able to shoot or if they can address their depth. embiid got humbled big time courtesy of gasol. he should come back a better player and he should cut out all that airplane nonsense.

With Klay for 5 games they push it to 7.

Then it’s a toss up.

Idk how they look against TOR if GSW has KD b/c everyone drops down a notch.

Yeah - the Lin/Melo thing is silly but that's the relevant point out of all of this. Lin was vilified for not risking his career over a few playoff games.

Correct me how? By saying a player will get reinjured?

Any player can get injured any time. They could also not get injured again. Assuming what happened to the GSW players would have definitely happened to Lin is far from a given.

Other players can risk it for the playoffs, yet this guy won’t go at 85% and gets worshipped for a small sample of good games and then leaving immediately.

Makes no sense and certainly wouldn’t happen for any other player.

No one is celebrating him, but if you think Durant's situation didn't prove anything, then you're in denial. Who the hell are we to judge a player's injury, pain threshold and probability of re-aggravating the injury?

They took Lin's statement on the 80%-85% and made it a big deal. But he was never expected to be back that soon. Can't blame him for not playing.

We would not have won against the Heat anyway. Never made sense why people were angry about that.

And stupid ass stephen a smith was the same dude leading a mob at Jeremy Lin just like he was pushing for Durant to play in this series

This series also shows just how stupid it is for people to want to go with trading away a core, and instead going with 3 Max superstars and scrubs.

One or two of those stars go down, you're done, especially when you're playing against a team that has one star (albeit the best player in the NBA) surrounded with guys who fit winning basketball.

I just don't get the mentalities of some people. It's like winning and longevity means nothing to them, as long as a sexy name is playing in NY. Worked out well the last decade
