Ayton seems kinda soft like in a Dwight Howard kind of way. Numbers will always look better than his actual impact
DENVER NUGGETS
Kyrie Irving/Josh Green/Dennis Schroder
Demar Derozan/Gordon Hayward/Amir Coffey
Torrey Craig/Gary Harris/Cedi Osman
Jarace Walker/Larry Nance Jr./Dominick Barlow
Xavier Tillman/Charles Bassey/Nick Richards

Ayton definitely but as to Bagley am always concerned with bigs that have short wingspans.

I think Bagley will be a star soon. He’s so raw but yet puts up big numbers. Just imagine how he would be when he develops. He also improved his defense a lot, just like Ayton. I’m pretty high on Bagley

Yeah Ayton gave Giannis fits when guarding him.

Suns would need a defensive anchor though at the 4 and a PG that can feed Ayton the ball.

Rubio and a trade down for Brandon Clarke should work

Bagley is like a 6’11 big that runs like a wing

I'm not touching Ayton with a 10-foot pole. I'm not denying his talent, but I don't see him having much of a two-way impact because he's always going to be a liability defensively. He'll put up big numbers, but he's also going to lose a lot of games.

I'm no scout but I would definitely take Trae, Luka and Bagley ahead of RJ, no question. JJJ was a better prospect as well, but I don't know if he's going to be this transcendent player that people talk about. I personally like RJ's upside better as a versatile NBA wing. I guess it's just a gut feeling. It's probable that I'm wrong though.

Ayton has a bigger impact on games than most of this draft class

Ayton ranked 2nd among rookies in Win Shares with 5.8 (Basketball-Reference), 2nd with a Player Impact Estimate of 13.9 (NBA.com/Stats)

His rim protection sucks but he has improved so much in that area and he is already a good perimeter defender. I don’t see why he can’t be a positive defender overall eventually.

I’m confused on why you like Jokic and KAT but not a fan of Ayton when those guys struggle on D like Ayton but get the job done offensive wise.

RJ is def a good prospect but i am not sold on him being better than the top guys of last years draft. There’s nothing wrong with that cause last years draft class was historic.

We shall see. You may be right, but let's see how he performs defensively in his second season. I'm just afraid he's going to revert to his old habits on defense, like KP did after saying he would focus on his rebounding a few years ago. This is not a scientific take by the way, just a gut feeling. I can see why you would disagree with me.

Jokic is a basketball genius who can carry an entire offense on his back, and that offsets his defensive deficiencies. I highly doubt that Ayton - however talented offensively - is ever going to reach that level, and that's not a knock against him. KAT I believe was better on both ends than Ayton as a rookie (and he's always been better as a rim protector), and again, that in and of itself is not a criticism of DeAndre.

I sure hope he proves me wrong. The NBA needs great bigs.

Cheers.

I don't even care that RJ has flaws at this point. It'll be exciting watching a really high draft pick come in and be an alpha. Even if he puts up a Mashburn rookie season I'd still be OD entertained because he'd be the first rookie we'd seen in a while that had real first-option scoring ability AND was a true starter.

I like DSJ so I won’t be mad, but DLoading adds to the core at 23.

I’m taking Ayton and Bagley over RJ all day

Ayton definitely not but bagley is debatable i give you that.

Im not high on bagley but i definetly see the potential.

Would much rather have Bagley than Ayton. DeAndre screams a stat stuffer that literally does nothing to impact a teams win column. His defense this year was absolutely garbage from the occasional play. To be fair to Ayton he would have been much better suited being drafted in 2006. His game is just not that appealing going into 2020. I wish him the absolute best but I see a better version of Al Jefferson as his ceiling.

So you'd choose two centers that don't play defense over a dynamic playmaking shooting guard, good luck with that

I guess you did not watch Ayton and Bagley play this season. Yikes

I watched enough, they still played shite defense from the one position that any successful team has to have defense from. Scoring really pretty means jack **** if they don't d up.

Amen! Who was the last alpha that we even drafted anyway.
So many drafts spent watching elite prospects talk about wanting to come to the knicks and we about 6 days away from finally getting one of them.

Yeah Ayton gave Giannis fits when guarding him.

Rubio and a trade down for Brandon Clarke should work

I read that the Suns are interested ... Actually, wouldn't this be proper grammar: "I read that the Suns is interested ..." But that just sounds so wrong.

Anyhow, the Suns' front office is interested in Mudiay. :D

My one worry with having this cap space and striking out in FA would be if our FO re-signed Mudiay.

Would be a bad big guard mentor to RJ especially with Fiz’s misplaced favoritism for him.

I wouldn't be shocked, tbh. Fizdale publicly committed to and invested all that time into "fixing" him. It's things like this that make me think, oh yeah, we can definitely mess this up. lol

Found this nice scouting report video on RJ which is encouraging ... until you get to the "Weaknesses" part of the video. Then it gets a little shaky.

Watching Mudiay play and seeing Fiz reward him could reinforce RJ’s ballhogging tendencies.

No, it'd still be ARE because of the implied verb-subject agreement, in that there are many people considered to be "sunS." If you had said "the suns franchise is interested," that would be correct because the franchise itself is singular.
