I’m revisiting what you meant by local talent. Isn’t SFV considered the porn capital of the world? Every free agent would at least “take a meeting.”

Upstate New York has the population to house a pro sports franchise. Between Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany and he surrounding counties, there’s enough people to make it feasible IMO.

They’re not anywhere near each other (except for Buffalo Rochester) so logistics would be an issue. But when I lived up there, ppl would drive all the time to go to the other cities like it was nothing.

My point was more about considering the ability of non-NY and CA teams to attract players and therefore attract fans. The Washington Generals are only going to stay solvent so long if every player wants to play in CA and NY. The more teams in those states the less able every other team are to compete.

The Clippers would be happy to finally have someone have to live in their shadow.

I live in the valley. Traffic is horrendous during rush hour. People from LA would have a tough time getting to the arena since most games would coincide with people coming home from work. Unlike Staples Center which is located next to 10,101 and 110, the Valley has no easy access to the outside world.
Pacoima team name would be tre-ce

Why don't the Clippers move to a suburb of LA? Playing in another team's arena is so bush league.

As it is now people for years have been saying the Clippers need to move to Anaheim. The locals keep blocking Ballmer's construction of a new arena in Inglewood.

The Lakers grip on the local pro basketball scene is strong. I just don't see a viable need for another team in SoCal. Not to mention there are already 4 NBA teams in the state of CA.

It would be hilarious if that valley team wins their first championship before the Clippers
