Both under contract for next year, Siakam will be a RFA in 2021.

Let’s see how these AD talks pan out and whether Kawhi stays.

Kawhi & Pascal scored 1,187 PTS during the 2019 NBA postseason... that’s the 2ND most PTS by a duo in NBA history!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ LeBron & Wade (2012) - 1,222 PTS
2️⃣ Kawhi & Pascal (2019) - 1,187 PTS
3️⃣ Jordan & Pippen (1992) - 1,187 PTS
4️⃣ Olajuwon & Drexler (1995) - 1,175 PTS
5️⃣ Shaq & Kobe (2000) - 1,172 PTS

I promise you!!!! Toronto is KEEPING Siakam !!
He WILL NOT be involved in any trades! Including for AD

This I did not know. I knew they would have a nice run but I did not expect that. Wow!

Whats the point of extending Siakam now?

Only reason would be if takes less than the max. Raps will have more cap flexibility if they wait to sign Siakam.

Weren’t there ppl saying Derozan means too much to the franchise and he’ll never be traded?

Btw, that cumulative total is so high b/c of Kawhi, who had the third highest total points in NBA history this year at 732, which was 27 pts away from the all time record (MJ).

I don’t think scoring will be a problem with AD replacing Siakam, which they don’t even have to do to still be contenders next year. It’s just a possibility that’s been floated out there.

You think CHI is turning down a Pippen for Hakeem trade b/c of this?

In all fairness it‘s not even a super accurate comparison anyway.. You have to take in mind league pace. Comparing 2019 to say 2000 is not exactly fair. Fewer possessions, means fewer opportunities to score, means less points.

That said, Spicy stay.

Siakam avg 19ppg in the playoffs! Not too shabby bro

It’s been floated around by fans that haven’t really watched Siakam I guess! Not by educated fans... There’s zero chance that Siakam gets traded! Zero!

I'm Canadian, love Siakim, but come on lol. If they can trade Siakim plus contracts & some picks and get AD (while re-signing Kawhi), they would be stupid to not go for it again with that back-to-back.

That point total is inflated from Kawhi, and it's silly to try and compare that duo to those all-time great duos.

Not on that list is 2001 Shaq and Kobe, where they "only" scored a combined 958.... in 16 games (15-1) for a combined 59.8 PPG.

Kawhi & Pascal averaged 49.5 PPG with 30.5 of that being Kawhi.

Siakam is an automatic extension. VanVleet is an interesting situation. Some team on the rise most definitely overpays him during free agency expecting him to breakout in an expanded role. Masai is a smart guy, so he's obviously going offer him an extension, but it's going to be less than what he'll get in free agency (unless he gets injured or something crazy happens). If his agent is smart, he knows this is the situation and they'll turn down the extension, but VanVleet probably has some loyalty to the Raptors and may be in line for the starting spot in a couple years with Lowry's age. Ball is in VanVleet's court.

Exactly. That’s a ways away and it’s all impacted by what happens this summer.

If Kawhi leaves we are going to have a ton of cap space and Siakam will be the face of the rebuild. In that scenario we can keep Fred as well and potentially trade him down the road - Not at the $20 million being proposed in this thread though.

If Kawhi stays you keep Siakam and see how things play out with Lowry next season before making a decision on Fred. Lowry will be old, but he and his family love Toronto and he might take a big veteran discount, he’s been paid, he has his ring. On the other hand, you have Fred. He plaid clutch against the Warriors but struggled against the Sixers. Is he our future PG? If you can’t keep both you decide between the two in a year.

Is that your big retort ? Lol baseless claims about nobody in particular ? Trump is that you ? Watch watch .. I can do that too ... EVERYBODY says Siakam will ever get traded.. everybody !!! So stop !! There! Now my claim is just as valid as yours!

You conviniently missed the “situation” part! It’s not remotely the same as losing every year! And being the second highest scorer on a championship team, that can guard 1-5 .. cmon bro! It’s a completely different situation! And .. again... real fan we’re calling for a derozan trade for years! Maybe you follow Ppl that don’t really understand the game! Idk... also AD is kind of injury prone ... and Siakam will be a long term player... not a one year rental ( and please please !!! Don’t pretend it’s the same situation as Kawhi, because it’s not! I don’t wanna explain to you all the ways it’s different ) AD.. is great ! But there’s no chance Siakam is traded did him! None

Lebrons 2012 PO ppg 28.6
Jordan 1992 PO ppg 34.5
Olajuwon 1995 PO ppg 33

Sooooooo, I’m not sure what your point was about Kawhi having the lions share of the points for that stat! It’s a pretty common among all the stats that one player of the 2 had far more ppg!

That first paragraph has to be one of the stupidest responses I’ve read in a while.

You’re the one who asked “who said this”. I told you who said it and I told you other things they said that happened. I also said it was an idea floated out there, not that it was rumor or even a suggestion.

Also, I said I’m not advocating for them to trade him. I just said it’s a possibility.

Reading is fundamental.

Your combined points stats means less than nothing when you’re talking about replacing the guy with far lesser points in that combo, with a far more potent offensive option who is also a tremendous defender.

If the deal happens, which it probably won’t, then I guarantee you’ll be the first one posting here saying they’re there greatest forward combination in NBA history.

Both are still under extremely valuable contracts.

And besides, we will always trust Masai's plan, whatever it is.
