Of course. Which is why I would expect improvement. He didn’t improve between his first and second year.

Some guys are developed coming into the league and are what they are. I think Tatum is that type of guy.

Lmao. The guy that became crowned way too early and didn't show hardly any growth this year hung up a trade for a top 5 guy. Hey at least the Lakers had the balls to do it.

I think with Kyrie out Tatum will have more ballhandler responsibilities, so he'll get more gaudy stats next year. There's a chance he'll be a top 10-15 player in the league someday, but AD is a top 10 player in the league today. Ainge sacrificed a shot now for a possible shot later, pushing back the timeline.

I also secretly kind of think Brown's going to end up the better player if we wait long enough.

That sounds rather sensible considering where the Celtics are at (Kyrie seemingly out the door) and the noise coming out of Davis' camp (wants to be in LA). Giving up such a ransom, assuming many other assets would have to be involved, doesn't make a whole lot of sense at this point.

Eh Ainge did the right thing here knowing AD wasn’t gonna resign and Kyrie is out. His mistake was if he passed on Kawhi while still having Kyrie.

Davis wasn't going to sign long term on Boston. The people talking smack about not giving up Tatum for AD would be the same people talking smack if they did and AD walked after his one year in Boston.
