Where do the Celtics go from here?

Looks like a textbook case of mismanaging your asset base.

Hopefully Kyrie signs with the nets and then things have come full circle. Celtics do nothing with all these assets and their star leave for the team they burnt. Poetic.

They passed up on:

PG
Butler
Kawhi (the most egregious and Celtic fans defended this loool)

Didn't offer enough for AD

I truly don't know where they go from here. They are the Raptors son.

This is not the proper way to do asset load management, Danny.

Masai just took a leap of faith and was rewarded with a **** championship for it.

Ainge had FOUR chances to do so, passed them all up. When you have that many assets you cannot win every trade.

Trade Danny for a 2nd rounder to put in your wArChEsT and give the keys to Hinkie

See how far the young pieces can get you as they grow. Keep drafting.

Missing out on the big cash in trade is what I think my Jazz did, to a smaller degree, through our rebuild. But Boston still has assets.
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

Hope Hayward comes back then trade him for more assets. Youth movement. Figure out the real values of Brown and Tatum, not their inflated league-wide values, and potentially maneuver them as well. Keep building. They're not at all in a bad position if you consider what they have today. The opportunity cost paints them in a bad light though.

And watch as Hinkie starts the process by trading Tatum and Brown for picks :D

They still have a good young team, keep taking a shot at the FA's is all they can do now.

They should consider letting ainge go. He is too emotionally attached to their assets and it's hurting them from getting better

time will tell if they attract one. after kyrie and the rumored locker room issues with the younger players, it may not be an ideal location.

I think they will be happy they didn’t strip the team to land AD. Without Kyrie they will have better chemistry and they have good young players. Tatum and Brown are still good, they’ll get better. Celtics will be fine.

Looks like they have to start from where they are at right now. Fairly young team ready to grind out the season. Doesn’t look like Kyrie is resigning and I doubt any big FA’s go there. If I was a Celtic fan I’d be pissed with the management.

Celtics had chances to make a real splash and didn’t.
