109-81.4=27.6mn
Obviously that is based on renouncement and not guaranteed. Forget who tweeted but it's a reporter I trust.

They also have to add in a cap hold for the combined amount of any Mid-Level, Bi-Annual, Disabled Player and trade exceptions available to the team, if the team is under the salary cap. They could renounce them, of course, but that seems risky when they want to fill out their team. MLE is 9.2, and IIRC, they have a trade exception from Zubac, 1.5.

Thanks for the championship Kawhi! Glad we won this year instead of facing this super team in LA LOOL!!!

you really think Kawhi is the type to join a superteam? I don't think so.

If he does... no hard feelings on my end.

2014-2019 haa been the best years as a Raps fan and I’ll never forget them. The championship was the icing on the cake, as I NEVER thought The Raps would ever win the big one.

If Kawhi does go to LA, I’ll still cheer him on, because in my eyes he’s a Raptors legend who’s number will be hanging in the rafters.

1 season, 1 championship... think about it... Kawhi did in one season, what multiple hall of famers haven’t done in their careers... win a championship(let alone their first) for a franchise. Let the man do what he wants.

I trust my math. It's all right there...
Yet you still counted cap holds that would obviously be renounced in this formula to skew the number further?

the timing on this trade hasn't been announced yet.

the trade will happen after free agency.

thus the lakers will still have 32.54 mil (or more if they move bonga or wagner) to chase kawhi (max 32.7 mil)

They're short of the space to offer a full max. 28 million isn't a full max for even Kyrie, let alone Durant.

It's 23.7M to 32.5M in cap space. If they land a tier 1 FA it will be on a pay cut.

Are you sure? It would help the Lakers. Would it hurt the Pelicans?

They'll get neither of those 2.

Kemba and Jimmy are the real and still great options for them.

Why should AD waive his Trade kicker. Keep that ish. Haha

I don’t see Kawhi going to LAL and I don’t see LAL waiting on KD for a year while LeBron gets older.

Could see them get Kemba tho.

the trade can't be finalised until July 1 anyway.

there's a 5 day moratorium where everything can be agreed upon with players. lakers and pelicans can agree to their free agent targets, then execute the trades when everyone benefits with the extra cap space

KD is outright impossible. Lakers can get nowhere close to the 38 million in cap space they'd need for him.

I doubt Kyrie goes there to be the #3 guy. Kemba maybe, but he seems content in Charlotte. I'd much rather spend that money around on a few players. They're really going to need some 3&D guys on the perimeter.

Since Lebron has been following the Pat Riley blueprint, it means the Lakers will sign Kyrie or Kemba.

not exactly, they could've traded the 4th pick for future draft assets to get to the 38 mil.

but durant going down threw that plan out the window, there's no losing another year of lebron

If Lakers sign kawhi, you might as well not even watch ITS OVER. I don't think kawhi is a cupcake like Durant but who knows maybe he wants lower usage with his health concerns. Imagine a big three of kawhi LeBron AD and LeBron just playing 3rd fiddle, that's the next 4 rings straight.

No one wants KD btw except for the Knicks but then again they're desperate for anyone

The KD we all knew is officially gone. He'll come back in 2021 as a shell of his former self. The achilles tear on a guy who utilizes mobility the way KD does is a death sentences in this game unfortunately.
