NBA landscape post AD: trase

Post#1 » by Mamba4Goat » Sat Jun 15, 2019 11:18 pm

A few fun questions have popped up as the trade was made official.

1. Can Davis and Bron attract a 3rd star? If so, who?
2. Should NO keep the 4th pick and/or Holiday and either rebuild fully or compete around Zion out the gate? Do they flip Zo/Ingram?
3. What does Boston do now? They have a strong chance of losing Kyrie and even potentially Horford.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

1. Kemba is their only hope thats worth the max. Otherwise go 3&D free agents and try to talk Rondo back for the min

2. Keep 4, trade Holiday(6 from Phoenix), trade Ball(7 from Bulls). Keep Ingram. Max DRussell

3. Boston rebuilds around Tatum/Brown or maybe turns Brown + picks into Beal

On the first question, who will sign for slightly less than max? Have about 29 m which might be enough for a Harris or Midds level guy.

Or they can pay Russell’s full max, which would be interesting, would he go back to LA?

And who takes Wagner and Bonga for free?

Dallas probably takes both for free.

If Spurs end up with roster spots I'd take Bonga

Think their idea is Kemba for the max then some combination of guys like Austin Rivers/Troy Daniels/Jared Dudley/Jeff Green/Aminu/Mike Scott/etc.. But if they get Kemba they are going to have a gaping hole at SG so there's some merit to going after 3 mid-level guys along the lines of Reddick/Morris/Beverly. Its an interesting debate as to which route is better.

If I'm NOP I keep Holiday as the veteran leader and maybe trade Lonzo to the Suns.

Boston should keep Horford and move on from Kyrie. He is a cancer on that team. See if they can do a sign and trade for D Lo.

I actually think Kemba is a poor fit for that team now. Wasted money if they pay him the max. Save it and get a bunch of nice role players in the Mirotic range.

So does this make Conley the best win-now talent realistically available? I don't think Beal and Holiday are available right now or else they'd clearly be better.

It’s better to discuss realistic possibilities. The Lakers will be just short of a max, unless one of the stars is willing to take a 3m plus paycut. Russell works, so do some second tier types or multiple role players.

The NBA landscape for 2019-2020 has really changed in the last week. Golden State might not even be a playoff team if Durant and Thompson don't play next season.

The Lakers have a chance to do something special. Lebron is still a top 5 player on everyone's list, and Davis is in the conversation for top 5, no question top 10.

If you could get reddick, Morris, patbev then you def want that. Jj was someone that I was thinking would be an ideal candidate to hope you could sell on coming cheap.
